Good Morning Calif........

Welcome to this Twisted Tuesday. My Frist day back to work after 3 days off. And I am sitting her wondering why am I going in? But I am up and will go. Knowning that I will have tons of stuff to work on. UGH!!!. I will take the same path as my boss. "oh well". I am very sleepy this morning and would to love get my butt right back in bed.
 
Yesterday Cyndi and went walking around the gardens at UCR. Very nice but not what we where thinking they would be. They are not very well tended, and all seem to be over grown and lots of dead stuff. And if it had not started raining we might have spent more time there. They talked about this pond, (they being the people we ran aross walking around there) but the pond was more like a large water puddle. So NOT what was built up to. Yap it had a few fish and some water turtles but I promise some of the "after the rain" puddles are bigger. LOL We walked about 6 miles yesterday up and down the hills. Most of the trails where marked and other are not so well marked. But if you want to spend a nice day with the family and not spend money, that is a great place to go. It cost $1 for parking for 4 hours. Not bad Huh?

Elizabeth...........I can't wiat to hear how the apple picking went. I will miss the trip here because of the Long Beach Marathon. I bet its going to so much fun. My throat is doing better, but not great. What did the doc say about DH's back? How is he doing now?

Susan.............congrats on the 5 pounds., WTG! I hate painting also, but love the fresh new look that comes with it. How did your suport group go? and the meeting up with your friend? What did you do to your knee?

Step..............I plan on being at everything that is going on, if I am not working. Of course, who knows, I might get sick. LOL I like the low cost fun you and Mike are working on. I would really love to go and see the lights and boats. DD and I like going to Bolboa also. The houses are so cute. We need to make sure that is my weekend off.

Eileen..............You are so right about the group you work with making the day or breaking it. I don't like starting slow, then you don't want to work. I would rather just hit the floor running, and keep going. The time does pass much faster. LOL

Good Morning Lu and Cali Friends,

Wow Lu that really a bummer about the gardens being so in such disrepair.  Usually the UC grounds are pretty nice, I know UC Berkeley where my husband went to school is absolutley gorgeous and the views of SF from the Berkeley hills are incredible.  Come on up our way and I'll take you on a tour!!!

Last night I was able to start painting our new Halloween yard art pieces.  I think these are going to be SOOO cute.  I will post pics when they are done.  These were such an appropriate find for our house as they have a music theme.  I love painting them because it's so relaxing.

Today brings work and then our CERT class, number 3 of 6 tonight.  Makes for a long day but well worth the effort to know what to do and to help our community in an emergency.

Morning Lu and Cali,

Well it is cold this morning, I guess i should not complain.  Last week it was 90 degrees (no wonder most of us are getting sick up here!).  Ms V has had a cough and is stuffy but no fever.  She shared this with me last week and my weekend was not the greatest.  I did get to go to the Giants game which took all of my energy on Saturday.

Today is more work and getting ready for the big bash this weekend.  My parents will arrive on Friday and we will have a small b-day BBQ for my dad then.  Then the rest of the weekend is devoted to DH's family.  Wish me luck (lets see if DH's sibling come through with their help as promises!!).

Good morning Lu and the rest of you lovely Cali people....

So is everyone enjoying this crisp, cool air as much as I am.  Mike turned off the A/C yesterday and opened up all the windows.  It was just wonderful.  We went to bed last night with the windows open and that cool air coming through.  I haven't slept that well in so long.  That was until my crazy kittie Specky Doodle Bug decided she needed to sit on me and get petted and lick my nose at 3AM.  She is as cute as could be, but what a pain in the you know what.  BTW, Lu, Speck is the kitten you almost took a couple of years ago.  She is the one with what looks like a "J" on her side.  She "moved" into the house last winter.  LOL

Anyway, Lu, if you can give me your schedule for the next couple of months, we'll definitely try to work the events around that.  The Boat Parade in December is usually for a week and Mike and I like to go on a Saturday night so there is no rush to get home.  I'll see if I can find the dates of when the parade is and we can make arrangements to get that set up.  Anyone who can join us should.  It truly is a fun fun evening.

Good Morning Everyone!!

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this rainy weather!!! I wi**** was like this most of the time :-) Yesterday I drove to the dr for my flu shot,and as i was signing in, they call to tell me their out of the vaccine, I looked at the receptionist and said ummm you couldnt have called earlier? So now i have to wait 2-4 weeks for one, grrr!!!!
Today as its raining, im going to just hang out at home and enjoy the weather!! I might touch up the bathroom ( dont get me started lowes lies that valspar paint sucks!!!!!!) but otherwise a boring day for me.

Lu to answer your question, my knee is just messed up in general, ive had surgery to fix the tear twice, and it never stays long, so Ive just given up, most of its bone on bone anyway, maybe when I lose more weight I might consider the dr trying to fix it but its not worth it in the mean time. And the support group is not what i expected, LOL I really do wish someone would do one locally but it was wonderful seeing my friend, I hadnt seen her in almost 6 months, and i almost didnt reconginze her!!! it was good to see her though :-)

I spent the day with Devan and Ryan today. Devan was cranky off and on but other wise we had fun today. Ryan is just funny. He loves to make his grandma laugh. Devan was flash dancing today. At least that is what it looked like. She is so cute.

My DH is feeling a little better. His Nurse Practitioner have him some stronger drugs. He turned work down for today, which I am glad he did because he really did not need to leave home.

I talked to the Detective in charge of my Mother's elder abuse case. He was very nice. He was honest with what he could press charges about and what he could not. He told me not to lose hope yet. He has just started his investigation. He said the credit card stuff is easier to prove. I am happy that someone is going to at least look into it.

Lu, I am sorry you were disappointed in the gardens. They have some underground gardens in Fresno. I hear they are beautiful. I have never seen them though.

Barb, I can't wait to see a picture of your decorations. Getting my DH to decorate for anything is like pulling teeth. He really is a bah hum bug! I love him any way.

Dolores, I hope you have a great weekend and the family pitches in. We will think of you this weekend.

Susan, I am sorry that the support group was not what you expected. I can't wait to hear all about it. Maybe I can take the leader training after the New Year.

Steph, I am loving the weather changes. The raisin growers and almond ranchers are worried about their crops. They are still on the ground and mold can set in.
