Good Morning Manic Monday...

Can you believe its monday? Starting tomorrow, I am off for 3 days. Yeah for me. Of course, I have a few classes planned for Wednesday, but they are really nothing, and they are lots of fun, So it all good!

Tomorrow is my nephews birth, so DD is going to have them all here for dinner. My little house is going to have 6 of us stuck in here. I know will have fun but I sure hope is cools down tomorrow. Big time!

Yesterday at work, I help the staffer make the holiday request. WOW! What a job that was. I think in the end, we done a great day. Everyone got there requested day off and plus an extra one. I really only wanted Thanksgiving off, because that is the holiday we are cooking for. And the rest I didn't care about. Hard as it was and how hard the staffer worked to make it work, I hope no one whines about it.

Elizabeth.......I would love to take the train somewhere, I have been on the merto link once, going to the beach, and that was fun, so I am sure I would have fun doing it once again. I hear ya about being creative. I see homes that are "staged" and I know that If I tried that, it would look like I had been robbed.

Mommy...........Man you are working so hard for the gathering, I sure hope the family in laws finds that ball they need to get on. "Get er done" You should call them and tell them what day you want them there, what to do when they get there. Sorry that you are having to take it all on yourself, but I am sure you are doing a great job.

Steph.........one time at work, I sent everyone there own errors, give them all one month. NOTHING  WAS  DONE!!  Not a one of them worked on it. I have gone to my boss, more then once. I am very close to putting my foot down, and I will just stop doing it and see what happens. Girl, I am so going to call ya, and have ya come and cook. What would be best for you, weekdays or weekends? How is classes going? Are you teaching a bunch of Lu's, or do you have good students?

Eileen........OMG my nephews was telling me about that game and how much it changes, they say that srcamble has changed also. I think it would be fun to try playing some of the new games. Like an adult game night. I think that wold be fun. We have been slow at work the couple of days, but I am sure today that is going to change. Monday alway suck.

Susan..............Oh how fun it is to clean out the old and bring in the new. LOL. I hate painting and yet I love to see the room when everything is done. I can't wait for the cool weather to get here.  I am done with the hot. UGH!! I think the heat is bothering us some much this year, because we didn't build up to, we just got slapped with it. Come one winter....Please do not mark this day, so when I start whinning about it being to cold, no one will remind me of it.

OK kids, time to get moving, I wish you all great MANIC MONDAY!!  Be  smart, drink you water!!

Morning Lu and Cali,

Thanks for the great shout out!  I did take the bull by the horns yesterday a give them an ultimatum!!  Give us some help or the party is off!!  It is their parents for god sake and they should at least be a little excited about it and willing to contribute!!

Today is back to work, hubby is on the road this week!  We have been ships crossing in the night lately.  he is off to Connecticut, along with the thunder storms.  The humidity should be horrible, I got him all his cotton washed for him to pack.  Me and Ms V will have a great week.

Ah, the stress of the wedding is over!  I am hoping this pic will load up but here is the wedding cake:



I vow to never do a stacked cake again, especially in 100 degree weather.  While this pic looks fine, from some angles it leaned a little.  I had warned the bride and groom that cakes don't like hot weather but it was well doweled and it stood for the cutting and pcis and that's really all I wanted.  They designed it and it was made with love.  If they wanted it perfect, they could pay the price and hire a professional but the bottom line was they loved it.  It tasted really good too.

This week will be a busy one at work, but I'm looking forward to it.

Good morning Lu and everyone,

You know I love you Lu and you and I both know you will never stop doing the extra work to make sure everything is correct.  That is just so not you.  You might complain, but you'll still do it.

Weekends are always better for me for dinner.  But let's wait until after October 15th because I have a tax return I MUST get done in the next couple of weeks and I've been totally procrastinating on all the work that must be done before I can even begin the return.  But we'll plan on something for sure.

I was also thinking while reading your post and others that maybe our trip next year could be a train trip.  I wonder if we could find something like that for a weekend.  Just a thought and we have a whole year to investigate and get ideas.  We should both start looking into that.  Of course 3 days in Vegas is also right up there.  You know we love our Vegas time.

As for me, it is Monday and back to work.  As for the teaching job Lu, I gave that up after two weeks.  The people in charge did not give me the tools that were required for teaching the class and it was starting to cost me money to do it.  It just wasn't worth my time for what it was starting to cost me.  I actually enjoyed the teaching, but I'm glad I have those two nights back.  I'm old.  I get tired at the end of the day.  LOL

OK, so work is calling.  I hope everyone has a terrific Monday.  It's certainly going to be a hot one out there today.  So if you are going out, be sure to have your water with you.  Dehydration can really sneak up on you quickly in this weather.  And please, remember your pets who are outdoors.  It's really too hot for them as well. Make sure they have water.  Or better yet, bring them indoors.

Well, it is supposed to be super hot today, about 102. Now that is just gross. Where is my fall weather. I'm so over the hot weather, and we have actually had a nice summer. Today brings another round of PT and then the gym with my trainer this afternoon. I also need to clean the house and do the laundry. I was going to do that yesterday, but I was being a big slug on the couch instead. I would love to do that again today, but I guess I should be productive. Not much else going on around here. I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!!

Gosh, I sure feel like it is Monday. I did not get enough protein in yesterday and I am really feeling sluggish this morning. I have a lot to do today like laundry, errands for my DH, and paying the bills. I was lazy yesterday. I was so tired.

Lu and Steph it is fun riding the train. If you plan a trip you will want to see if you have to ride the bus part of the way. The freight railroads won't let Amtrak go on all of their tracks. To go over the Grapevine you get on the bus at Bakersfield. That was the 2nd train trip for me. I would love to take the train trip that goes across Canada but my husband would go crazy for a week doing that. He likes to be out on the lake fishing or outdoors. The trip has tours of stuff and you stay in this really  nice hotel in the mountains overnight.

got just a few minutes left on lunch..spent it eating my shell-less taco salad and catching up on postings here.

Thank you Lu for your shout-outs...it's a wonderful way for lurkers like me to catch up with all the doings going on.

I have to agree with Eileen..what the heck happened to FALL???? We had such a beautiful beginning just last weekend (not this one just past..it was HOT!) and now we're back looking at 100deg plus :-(  Gotta get back into the 80's for Nor Cal Luncheon up at Apple Hill..that would be sooooo perfect temps.

for me, I've been busy working, crocheting up a blanket for my granddaughter and catching all the new TV shows for the new season. DH is fighting with insurance to get partial knee replacement..which in turn continues to mess with vacation plans..make them, cancel them,,reschedule...just a complete run-around. But I'm not eating over it!  Yeah for small mircles LOL
