Emotional Day
Barb -
You are so right! I had a talk with my husband last night and explained to him that it is very hard for me to have that type of food in MY HOME! It's bad enough that I have to fight the battle in every day life outside of home. I explained to him, I don't mind if they want it and they bring in one serving. It's when the stuff is lying around & I have to look at it in my kitchen that makes it hard for me. He got up after our talk (around mid-night) and took all of the crap to the garbage out side. He didn't say a word to me about it & when I got up this morning I noticed it was all gone. That meant so much to me :). He told me this morning that he was going to talk to his mom & ask her not to bring that stuff home again until I say it's ok.
Don't worry I didn't take you post as a lecture :), I know you gals have been where I have been. I love your support and value your advice (BIG HUG).

WAY TO GO CHRIS!!
Now there is a guy who is smart enough to know that this surgery isn't just about you, Michelle, but is going to benefit him and his family too, to have a fit, happy and LOVED wifey :-)
It can be easy to be a surgeryzilla and I contend that this whole process is intensely selfish...for me any way, not speaking for others and in many respects it has to be as we are seeking to save our lives and quality of our lives.
But at the same time statistics around great weight loss and divorce is frightening. All of us will either strengthen or weaken our relationships with people close to our issue of food. It's always nice to see a couple be supportive and strenthening each others love and commitment to each other's happiness rather than one feeling unsupported (or threatened as the spouse of the loser) and all the crap that goes along with that.
Now MIchelle, be sure and remember what Chris did when you were feeling unsupported.....when that time comes that Chris is feeling 'threatened' by that hot new wife he's sporting around...give him plenty of reason to not feel threatened!!

Point well taken, trust me :). Ohh Kris had an epiphany this morning.. Kris had bought some Kit Kats (that was part of the stuff he tossed) and Nathan (our 4yr old) told him he wanted Kit Kats for breakfast. I over heard Kris tell Nathan, "I'm starting to agree with your mom, we are not going to bring that stuff in the house anymore, cause you kids don't need it. Plus I don't want to listen to you guys start to cry over it," I just about fell over in the hallway! I haven't had a chance to tell him I hear their conversation, but will tell him how proud I am of him just making that statement. Trust me we are working hard at our marriage more than ever now. We both don't want to be another statistic.
