Sores & Ulcers After Weight Loss
Hey Cali,
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I have been traveling all summer on business. I have done real well with my weight loss. I have lost close to 200 lbs in just over a year half.
However, I have developed a sore spot where the end of my ****yx, a.k.a. tailbone, meets my skin. It has become very thin there where I have loss fat tissue.
Can anyone tell me if this common, and is there anything I can do ?
Thanks
Doc

Hi Doc,
Pain in that area is very common, however I have never heard of anyone getting actual soars/ulcers. That is something to be concerned about I would think, and you should check with your doctor.
Again, just pain is not something to worry about as it happens to everyone. You have lost the cushion of fat that you have sat on for so long. Some people find sitting one of those circle pillows helps.
Hope you get to the doctor though soon and check out the issues with the open wounds. That is something to be concerned about.

That is a new one for me too. I agree with Steph though, go see your doctor. I know if I sit on something hard my butt goes to sleep because I sit on those bones. I now know what they mean when they say "the sit bones". My butt is flat I have lost so much fat there. Oh, is that TMI? Well one more thing, congratulations on your weight loss. You have done great!
HiDoc,
Well as for the ****yx, mine became very sore but now no problem. However, that being said, during one of the Big Medicine episodes, there seemed to be a major problem with the ****yx for a lady that lost a drastic amount of weight. Do some research and DO SPEAK TO YOUR SURGEON. Better safe than sorry.
Best of luck
