Okay, so my favorite tea has always been chai tea. Not the latte..just the boiled tea bag and sip it slowly =) was always my wake up and my good night drink.  I was wondering if RNYers can have chai tea?? I'm a little over a month out - so the caffeine is okay as long as its not alot...just wondering - I miss my chai =P

I say go for it, just make sure you are at home just in case it doesn't agree with you.

I always.....ALWAYS make sure I'm at home (or my sister's house lol) if I'm trying something new.  I don't want to be anywhere that I can't just lay down and sleep or feel free to use the bathroom!! - I honestly didn't see any problem with trying it but I know if it were a major no no then everyone would have jumped on it! =) thank you for the reply and for agreeing with me haha!!

I would check with your surgeon's office just to make sure as both coffee and tea have quite a bit of acid.  Even with an acid reducer you just want to protect that new pouch to avoid a grouchy pouchy!  That being said, I think after 2 months post surgery I was enjoying my coffee and iced tea and I've been going full strength ever since with no issues.

Hugs,

I love chai tea, but now it doesn't love me now. I miss having it, but oh well. I hope you tolerate it ok. Let me know how you make out with it. I especially love the smell of it.

Chai is black tea, cardamom, ginger, star anise, sometimes a little black pepper.

I miss my Chai latte..................I had one every single day. Maybe that's how my butt ended up at 261

Yeah, I had tried the latte's ...YUCK.  I prefer to just have ho****er..pour it over the tea bag and let it sit..reheat if necessary and drink it...nothing added except maybe a packet of splenda but nothing else!!  I mainly love the aromatics of it =)

Pre surgery I loved Chia tea latte from Starbucks. I don't miss it as much as I thought I would, but maybe I will try it home made with water. Thanks for the suggestion.
