Oakland - Alta Bates Summit Medical Center

I am hoping to find members who are familar with this hospital and its bariatric team.  I just started going through them, and really would like any advice, help, or support.

Don't know about their bariatric team but I just wanted to welcome you to the Cali Board and wish you the best of luck on your journey.  We do have a Nor Cal Loser's group that gets together each month for a luncheon and we'd love to have you join us.  We're rallying this Sat at Coco's in Concord.  See my posting a little further down.

I believe the gal who facilitates out Wed support group at Deer Valley Kaiser in Antioch is the bariatric coordinator for Alta Bates.  Very nice, knowledgable woman.  Come, it's open to everyone...not just for Kaiser patients.

Deb, I am going to the next meeting on the 22nd at the same Kaiser you mentioned.  I will go to those while I wait for the surgery, it will be great to hear different stories.

I had my surgery there. They treated my very well. My PCP is an endcronologist and has quit a few surgery patients. He says that they have great follow up and are some of the best around.
