Good Morning Cali Friends, what are you thankful for today?

Today I am thankful for...

1.  Getting the wedding cake that I am doing for my cousin finalized.  Next weekend is the wedding.

2.  Hot coffee on a chilly morning.

3.  Getting so much done at work yesterday.

OK your turn what are you thankful for today?

Gee Barb, I am  not a good cook so forgive my qustion, but how do you keep the cake fresh until the weekend? Don't forget to  post a picture of the finished product.

Elizabeth,  I will bake and frost the cake the day before the wedding and then put it in the fridge unassembled.  Once at the reception site, I will assemble it and put the final decorations on it.  So up until it's assembled it's just 4 separate cakes!

O.K. Some how I could see it all finished and sitting on your cabinet until the wedding. I have never been good at baking cakes. I can do some good cookies though. As long as I don't have to roll the dough out and frost them.

Susan,  I hear you on that!  This is one of the reason I do it for family, it's their wedding gift from us and they get to design it. I would hate to decorate for a living, it would take all the fun out of it!  My mother-in-law is a retired baker so I get to have her help me and we have fun doing it together.  When Ron and I were married in 2001, I made my own wedding cake!  LOL
