Message from Dr Hahn

As a few of you know, I have insurance for one more year, actually it goes through October 31, 2011.
I wrote Dr Hahn a email reminding him of my situtation, and he answered.

He said.... "He would look into it and see what he could do "

so that is better than no answer at all!!

Sometimes the 'squeeky wheel' method works best! I am so glad that Kaiser allows us to email our doctors....they are more inclined to take us seriously when there is an electronic trail I think.

Here's hoping you get a date soon!!

Yea Deb... I got a mini lecture from Nancy... which is understandable. She reminded me that most people have to wait a year... but my bmi was 42 now it is 39. So I am hoping that I get a call. I was going to ask for Dr Chu, and I was given Dr Hahn... guess I am suppose to learn pacience.... which I am NOT, since I am out of work..

I don't have Kaiser but I do know sometimes you have to keep after these guys or you get lost in the crowd. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Ohh good! I agree with everyone else, sometimes you have to take matters in your own hands. You are dealing with an insurance issue & if Dr. Han said he would work with you then he needs to honor that.

Let me give you a little advice about Nancy, she is a very nice person, but you have to kill her with kindness & be extra sweet with her. When you do she will bend over backwards for you ;) (not implying you weren't).

Glad that you heard from dr. Hahn. The squeaky wheel does get the grease. Hopefully, he will start reviewing your chart. Most people have to wait a year, because they are trying to get the weight off. The process went very quickly for me, although, at times, it seemed slow.

BTW, I haven't lost ANY weight. I wonder what that is about.

Thank you everyone for the great support. I was so excited when I saw the email.. jumped on that link to my message center in about 20 seconds~~!
When I met with him for my consult we talked about it, he assurred me I would have surgery if I as at goal in that time frame, so I could do all my follow ups for the first year.

Gail, Michelle, are you feeling better this week?

I am doing good this week. I have had a few moments, but I pushed it a little. Today we took our boys to the Halloween store & to Trader Joes. I was about ready to pass out, had to go home an rest for about an hour. I was able to cook dinner for the boys for the first time tonight. That made me so happy! Other than that all is good :) & can't wait to start soft food!
