Ready to start
I am scheduled for surgery September 14, 2010. This day will be one of those really important days in my life, like my birthday or wedding anniversary! I think it will be my new birthday, actually. A new life and a new me. I am anxious and excited and ready to get going. I know it will be tough for a while, but well worth the effort. I may even get to see my shoes - while they're on my feet!
I only waited 3 years for this day to come, still a long time, though. I can't tell you how much research and work went into just getting to this point, and now it's finally here! I feel like singing "Happy Days are here again!"
Just kidding, but really, I can't wait to get started, and I hope everything goes well with you. I'll be looking for your posts, so stay in touch!

Linda,
Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. You're going to love this healthier new life and it's going to be a wild ride.
You're going to do just great, it helps so much to read blogs of those who have had surgery. I always recommend bring an iPod to surgery, most anesthesiologists will let you wear it in to surgery and will remove it after you're asleep and then when you wake in recovery, it will be playing again! It was a wonderful friend when I had my surgery!
I wish you and Marie all the best.
Hugs,
Barb

Linda,
Oh WOW!!! Only 2 more days to the NEW YOU - YAY - YIPPIE - HI HO
You will do just fine. The board is a great place for advice and wonderful friendship, some of whom you may actually meet if you attend support groups or the monthly coffee/luncheons. We are saving a nice cozy warm spot on the losers bench for you.
May you have an un-eventful surgery, a speedy recovery and well on your way to seeing your shoes. Keep us posted on your progress, we all like to read how others are doing, good or bad and offer some of our own personal advice from personal experience.
Welcome aboard
PS: That little bit of advice from Barb about the IPOD is fantastic. Wish I had known or thought of that.
