Afraid to eat too much

Hey guys... I know I am in Oklahoma now but the Cali board will always be my home.

I am not really having a problem but I need to see if anyone else felt like this... lets see. In the beginning when I was having problems I wasn't able to eat anything. I was pretty much on liquids and I didn't start more solid foods until towards the end of April and had surgery in Feb. When I started to eat I was only able to get in very little and had a full feeling. I am now starting to be able to eat more and it scares me. I don't want to overeat and start gaining weight. I know at 7 months out that I am getting out of the honeymoon stage soon so it just has me worried.

At 7 months out about how much should I be eating? I am not eating too much but I could eat more if I wanted to. I still do a protein shake for breakfast since food in the morning doesn't like me. Please let me know how you all felt at this point when you were able to eat more.

*hugs*
Nathalie

I think what you are going through is completely normal. There is always that fear. But we were eating so little in the beginning and that's not healthy long-term. We really need to start eating more eventually.

Here's how I ate (and exercised) the first year. Maybe that will help:

Thanks that did help put it into perspective a little more. I am not eating enough and I know it but the fear is there. I know I need to eat more and I am gonna start trying. I will just take this one day at a time.

Thanks again

Well, I never forced myself to eat until I got to maintenance. We have a source of energy to make up for any calories we don't eat: our fat! If we eat more, then it takes longer to burn off that fat. The main thing is to eat healthy, get enough protein and take our supplements.

well I have never forced myself to eat... if it gets too late and I have all my protein in and I'm not hungry(most of the time) then I won't do a last meal of the day. I will just work on getting in more water. I think my downfall right now is not getting enough calories so my body is holding onto what it gets. I just started exercising again (3 week break due to a move and knee pain) so maybe that will stir my appetite. I take my supplements daily and have it programmed to alert me on my phone so I don't forget. What I need to do is insert some healthy snacks in between meals to boost my calorie intake. For the most part my food choices are good.

Thank you again for all of the support and help. I really appreciate it.
