2 more days to go!
Surgery date is in 2 more days in Fremont. Anyone here been to the Fremont Bariatric @ Kaiser?
I'm Cindy and I have 2 daughters, Tabitha (4)(duh right?) and Sabrina (11mos). I have been on this journey for several years and now after the birth of my 2nd DD I am ready.
I am glad to be here with my CA homies. I have been lurking a lot in the main VSG board but I was looking for some buddies closer to home. I am nervous and scared but I am going to be brave and go for it. I look forward to reading about everyone's journey.

Hi Cindy -
I also have two small children & I was exactly where you are a week ago :). I had my surgery with Dr. Chu on Tuesday August 31st at Kaiser Fremont. I absolutely love her! she is the best. I had the best care in Fremont & can only say wonderful things about my experience. I take it your surgery is scheduled for Tuesday?
Any advice I can give you is this.. DO NOT get the lemon flavor stuff for the bowel cleanse, trust me!!! Get the orange or grape. I don't really know if the other flavors are any better, but can tell you the lemon is like eating a raw lemon.
When they get you up to walk defiantly ask for an abdominal binder it makes a huge difference. If you don't already have a recliner at home go get one, rent one if you have to. I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't borrowed my mom's. I have been living in since I got home on Wednesday.
Don't know where you live, but they tend to release you around commute traffic time. I live in Pittsburg, was discharged around 4p- 4:30 & didn't make it home till after 6p. It wasn't a fun ride home & my meds wore off in the middle of the ride. If you need the meds make sure you take a dose about 30 min before leaving. It will make your ride home a lot better. Also have a few pillows one for your tummy & one for your head.
Let me know if you have any other questions. I am always willing to help :).

I mixed the prep with No Sugar Added Applejuice, which was recommended by someone. It is easier to get down, if taken in small amounts and when it is mixed with something else. The entire day is clear liquids, so you have your choice of fluids.
I agree with Michelle, the nursing care is great. Unfortunately, I didn't ask for an abdominal binder and didn't have a recliner. I've camped out on the couch with a back rest, assorted pillows, and have been able to change my position according to my comfort level. My bed is too high off the floor, to be able to get into it and be able to sleep comfortably.

Welcome to the Cali Board. Your surgery is so close. You really will find a lot of support and encouragement here. One thing I would like to add is if you live a ways from the hospital you will need to stop and walk some on your way home. Just walk around the care 2/3 times. It helps to keep blood clots from forming. I will be gone next week so I won't be able to check in on you but keep us posted and I will check the boards when I get home. We are making room for you on the loser's bench and Good Luck!
