I wish you the best
Hi everyone, first wanted to thank everyone for the well wishes. The surgery went very well. Dr. Chu was very pleased and said it couldn't have gone more perfectly. this is the first time I have been able to give an update.
My hospital stay was good, everyone at Kaiser Fremont was absolutely wonderful. All of the people who took care of me were so kind and helpful. I honestly couldn't have asked for better care.
I got home yesterday in the evening and let me tell you it was the longest car ride I think I have ever taken. I swear my mom hit every pot hole on the way home, she felt so bad, but I was in need of meds when I got home :). The gas has been bad, but it was defiantly expected. Thank you to everyone who advised me to have a recliner at for me to sleep in. I tried to lay in bed & that lasted maybe 2 minutes.
I was able to get down almost 2 protein drinks today. I think that is good. Although, I think the milk in the drink gave me more gas. The next one I have my hubby make for me will be with water. I am hoping the gas goes away soon, I would honestly say it's been the worst part. Dr. Chu gave me some gas meds, they help a little. I know I need to walk more. My goal tomorrow is to get up and walk around every 2 hours. I was very tired today, could barely stay awake for more than 2 hrs at a time. Thank GOD I have such a wonderful support system,. My husband & mother-in-law have been sooo wonderful.
I'll keep everyone posted on my progress.

Your hubby rocks!
That is a lot of protein shake to get in this early. I could not finish one. I never make mine with milk......only water. Milk has a good amount of sugar.
Try greek yogurt with vanilla and stevia (i know you dont like using splenda) or even add some dry powdered sugar free cheesecake pudding mix (jello) to make a cheesecake protein snack. Goes down easy.
Drink Drink Drink cuz right around the corner comes constipation if you are not hydrating yourself enough........and you dont want that WITH the gas!! trust me :)
