Pre-Op went very well

My pre-op last Thursday with Dr. Chu went very well.  I don't even know what I was so nervious about.  I was so happy to find out I am her first surgery of the day on Aug. 31st.  I so didn't want to have to wait around all day for my time slot.  Although, don't know how happy my mom & husband are they have to get up at 5am...  but I say welcome to my world heheheeh (I get up at 3:30a every day to be at work by 5a).

My emotions are so high right now.  Yesterday while I was at work I had this strong ugre to leave early & take my boys to do something fun.  I never do this type of thing, but I did.  I left work 2 hours early and took my boys to Santa Cruz.  We had so much fun!   My husband and I were running around with our boys like we were little kids.  It was a blast!   Although, if I had any quesiton on weither or not I was going to have surgery it was confirmed yesterday for sure!   I had to get off a few rides cause I didn't fit.  I was so embarrased..  My son was upset cause he wanted me to ride them with him... totally broke my heart.   In the past I would have been so upset it would have runed my fun for the rest of the day/evening.  Last night I said to myself this is why I have to go thru with this.  I didn't let it get me down, but it was defnatly a huge eye opening experience.  I told my son that next summer we will go back & I will be able to ride every ride with him.  He seemed to be very happy with that.

Please keep me in your preyers on Tuesday Aug. 31st that everything goes well & I have an easy recovery.

Michelle,

Good for you, taking off the the kids to Santa Cruz and doing the rides you could do.  Right you are, this will be the LAST time you'll ever have to get off a ride again!  After Aug 31st you'll be on the ride of your life to better health and happiness and it's going to be a great wild ride at that!

So excited for you , we'll be counting down the days with you and all moving over on the loser's bench to make a nice warm spot of honor for you!

Hugs,
Barb

Hi Michelle, Great story about your pre-op appointment and going to Santa Cruz.. This will be the LAST time that you will have to get off a ride due to your size. It was great that you had such a wonderful time with your family.

I'll be thinking of you on the 31st. I hope I get to see you, before I leave. Best of luck during the surgery and have an uneventful recovery.

Hi Michelle,

Good for you for leaving work early and coming to Santa Cruz. I live here and yes, the Boardwalk makes you feel like a kid again. I too had to walk off a ride, the Sea Swings, but post surgery, I didn't have any issues and rode that ride. Unfortunately I found out it made me a bit dizzy, but at least my size wasn't the issue this time!!!!

I am betting your surgery will go well and we will have yet another person joining us on the loser's bench. I hope to meet you at one of our NorCal lunches someday. Good luck. Remember to sip your water, take your vitamins, eat slowly, take small bites, and treat yourself well.

Thank you everyone for all the kind words.. You all are such a wonderful bunch of people!  It's so nice to have such a strong support group & you all know what I am going thru.  I can't tell you how much all of your support means to me.

I am so ready for this and know in my heart this is the right path for me.

I too am happy that everything went well for you. It is so nice to be the first surgery so you can get it over with! I am glad you went to Santa Cruz too. You are right about next year being on all the rides! You will be in my prayers and thoughts. You know the great thing about that loser's bench is there is always room because everyone is getting smaller and smaller! So I will just say, "Come on down!"
