Help! My hair is falling out
I don't have very much hair (Thin & stringy). Bypass done on 7/14/09. I have been taking 5000 mg of biotin every day since surgery. Don't know that it really helped but it has to be doing something. Currently 13 mos. out and I have been seeing hair growth about 2-3 inches.
Your systems goes through a shock so losing hair is normal for most. When I had my gallbladder removed and other surgeries my hair fell out then as well, just not as bad.
Be sure to get all your protein as this will help but don't expect it to grow back overnight.
good luck

I had a lot of hair loss from the 3rd to 6th month. It was alarming how much hair was left in the shower, but like you I have a lot of it. It stopped happening around the 7th month post surgery, but I have to say my hair not as thick as it used to be. I miss that and I have no idea if it will ever be as thick again, but according to my hair dresser, I could still do the big hair thing if I wanted.
I'd still ask your doctor or someone on his support staff. They may want to know how much is coming out and determine if it's too much.
Good luck with this!

Mine started at around month 5 and has been coming out in fistfulls for a month now. I cut it shorted 6 weeks ago and today I'm going in for another cut. I'm hating my hair shorter but I figure it's only for a short time, then I can do whatever I want again.
