I hope it's OK to post this here. I recently set up a group/forum for WLS folks in the South Bay Area of California. You can find the group here:

The purpose of the group is to set up a local support system, and perhaps have a few social get togethers or support sessions without having to drive too far or be with a specific doctor.

Right now I am just trying to invite members and see what people are interested in. Once we have more members I will probably start organizing events.

Um, nice of you to post this but there are at least two different South Bay areas in California: San Francisco area and the Los Angeles South Bay area.

Hi Rose,

I am glad you are doing this, I don't usually check the CA board and I wonder how many other people don't check either. I wonder how you feel about posting this on a few more boards to get a bigger response. I also go to the Good Sam support group, let me know if you would like me to let the people there know about this or if you think that would be too much. Thanks again for doing this, it's a great idea.

I had no idea there was a "bay area" in southern california, sorry guys. Elina, yes I would love for you to share the information with who ever you think would be interested.. that would be great! When you mentioned the Good Sam support group, did you mean Dr. C's group? I've been to one of those meetings but I didn't see you there I don't think. I'll be going to the next one on the 18th.

I will go to Dr. C's group on the 18th. too. I also go to the Good Sam group that meets every 2nd. Tuesday and every 4th. Thursday of the month. It is a good group. Sometimes it gets a little big, so you don't get a lot of time to share, but there are some great people there. The topics are often quite interesting. There are many guest speakers that talk about all different aspects of this journey, from pre-op to maintenance to plastics. Come join us, I think you will like it. I like to stay contected so that I never forget where I started and where I could once again be, if I am not careful.
