So my surgery date was set up for August 24TH and I started my pre op diet today... I was sitting there today talking to my sister about the surgery when my surgeon calls. I figured it would be a reminder to start the diet.....oh no way... they wanted to reschedule my surgery - my heart dropped and I wanted to cry - until she told me they wanted to change it to this Friday!!!!! OH. MY GOSH!!! Now I'm super excited and freakin out a little lol I had my "last meal" last night and I hope my liver isn't gonna be to big for the laproscopic!!

Panic, celebrate and look forward to the wild ride. I am sure your liver is going to be fine or else they wouldn't have set the date. I am sure they took your previous weight loss into consideration. If you're really concerned you could call back and tell them your concerns and make sure they know about your last meal. I did a last meal pretty close to my surgery and it all worked out.

I am excited for you and look forward to hearing how things go for you from here on out.

I want to assure you that your feelings are very normal, in fact your emotions are probably going to be all over the place for a while! I would not worry about you last meal. It is far enough away from your surgery to count. I think most people have a last meal. I know I did. Good Luck with your surgery and remember there is plenty of room on the loser's bench so we are moving on down right now!

That's good because Dr. Coirin's Parkinson is getting worse bye the day!!  AAAAHHHHHH!!!!  Just kidding...Deep breath...deep breath.  You are in good hands dear.  Everything you think you'll need for the hospital...you won't.  Most would be nice, but you can live without them if you don't pick them up.  We want our ducks lined up in a row...But the Lord has other plans.  You've chosen a good professional surgeon.  You have looked at this from every angle...Prayed about it, talked it over with different people.  From your post we can tell you are serious about this.  Praying Friday is a great day for you.  Brian  PS  A lot of hurry up and wait at the hospital.

*Big Hugs* Dont panic, its the begining of your new life! I'm sure everything will go as planned and you will be feeling great in no time!! I wouldnt worry about your liver size, My dr didnt even require a long diet like that, I had to do 2 days liquid diet before surgery and that was it. So keep your head up and think positive thoughts! Good Luck, will be thinking of you friday!!
                            Have a Smurfy Day!!!!

CONGRATS!  Look at the bright side instead of a month count-down panic-attack, you get a couple days only of it!!  Please keep us posted - my paperwork got to the insurance company on Monday so I am on pins and needles waiting!  I have Dr. Coates so I will have the same hospital experience!  You'll be in my prayers and thoughts on Friday!
