DR. FADI HENDEE MD - Kaiser Harbor City
I am seeking anyone who has been treated by this doctor in Kaiser Harbor City for feedback on him....Is he nice? Is he willing to listen to you as his patient? What have your experiences of him been?
I got Kaiser to send me to a specialist within Kaiser who is familiar with the BPD/DS and he is supposed to be "the man"! Curious to hear if anyone here has been treated by him!
Thanks,
Allison

I believe Dr. Hendee is an endocrinologist and not a bariatric surgeon. How much he knows about the DS, the difference between the old BPD and the DS, vitamins, etc for either operation, etc, I don't know. Or if he's willing to listen.
I would suggest, if you haven't already, getting a copy of your operative records from back when as both operations were being done then, and it will help him to know exactly what operation you had (or not, depending on his level of knowledge). These days, the BPD is no longer being done in the USA as the DS has so much less problems with nutritional deficiencies and/or diarrhea. And good for you for working on your vitamins before you even see him. All of us need to be proactive about this, as so many docs just don't know enough about post-op nutritional needs for either DS or RNY.
