The nutritionist at my drs office just hands you a packet and it explains what you eat for the liquid stage and puree past that forget it, no info except not to eat bread till month 3, helpful isnt it? I ordered some protein pudding but what else can i have??  is it to early for a cracker? any advice will be helpful thanks!!!!

Susan,

How about cottage cheese and berries or sliced peaches in splenda?  String cheese, turkey breast, SF pudding, to name a few.  Just some of the things I remember eating.  Hope that helps.

Hugs,

I am so jealous!! I am never hungry and I still can barely eat anything. But for my snacks which actually really works for me since I get bored and like to eat is everytime I eat a sugar free popsicle just the ghetto brand from walmart and it works perfect for hydration and food lol.

You could try that, those are my favorite foood now a days.

You actually should be eating 5 to 6 small meals a day to keep your blood sugar level.  I would stay away from crackers or any useless carbs.  If you start them now, you will continue with them and first, they will slow your weight loss down and secondly, you will find as time goes by your one cracker becomes two, then three, etc.  Part of the reason for this is that carbs such as that, from crackers, chips, etc. feel very good in your pouch.  They feel good, because they go right through your pouch.  You feel no fullness from them, plus the carbs will temporarily raise your blood sugar and then drop your sugar levels like a ton of bricks making it necessary to eat something again.  Keep your small meals all protein.  You can add some good carbs to the protein like some fruit or vegetables, but make protein the base of the meal.  In between, if you really need something have SF ice pops or SF pudding as some of the others have suggested.  But try to get used to those six small meals now because once your appetite comes back in full force, you'll be grateful you made those lifestyle changes and stuck with them.

I couldn't agree more with Stephanie... you should be eating several small meals made up of protein 1st, complex carbs 2nd. I have taken the protein powder and mixed into the n/f s/f pudding to get that extra protein, plus it is much more filling.  You can have a boiled egg, minced up, add some mustard and light mayo, and eat it... mini egg salad.  How about beans? I love beans - spicy black beans - with a scrambled egg.  Only need 2 tablespoons (if that much) on top of the egg. And you can use egg beaters or egg whites instead of a regular egg.  How about peanut butter balls?  1 cup of pb (smoothie or chuncky), 1/4 c of sugar free syrup, 1 scoop of protein powder (I like chocolate personally). 1/2 cup of powdered milk, 1 tbsp splenda.  Mix well. using teaspoon to measure, make small balls, roll them in protein powder. I refrig mine.  My hubby loves them!  You can then have 2 for snack.  If you don't have a problem with tofu or soy you can find TVP (textured vegetable protein - soy), add 1/4 cup of that instead of the protein powder, and then when you form the balls, roll them in powdered milk, then in the TVP for crunch.  With the TVP you will get a higher protein count.

Hope this helps.

I have heard that some people put the sugar free syrup in plain non-fat yogurt.
