SO excited!! It's been forever since I've posted anything but I had to come back and update everything.  August 24th!! It only took my insurance 2 weeks to approve me and the surgeon is booking only one month away, it's all working out perfectly!!  Now I get to go shopping for all my goodies!! Food scale...vitamins....comfy pj's xD =) any suggestions?

Congratulations! Isn't a relief to get a date?

I read several books about people who have gone through gastric bypass surgery. I thought that was really helpful. Just go on Amazon and do a search on "gastric bypass" and all sorts of books come up.

You definitely want your supplies for at least the first week you come home. Liquid protein for sure. Also have some DVDs of good movies or TV series that you've always wanted to watch but never had time for. Good books and magazines.

Full steam ahead for you!

First congratulations and next chapstick for the hospital.  Your lips get so dry and you can't gulp water so you'll want to try to keep your lips moist and chapstick helps.  Also skid free slippers.  I found that the little bootie socks with the skid free bottoms work real well.  Regular slippers tend to just not give you the traction on the floor of the hospital.  Other then that, just relax and get ready.  It will be here before you know it.

Congrats on your date, it is exciting.

I am still waiting for my date.  Hopefully should know by next week.  Sorry, I don't know what to take to hospital.  But keep us posted.

Congrats!
I would recommend an abdominal binder for sure.  it really helped me to be able to walk around which is imperative to get rid of gas!!! Don't leave the hospital until you are passing gas is my mantra ;o)
Lots of protein shake samples from vitalady.

Good luck and look forward to seeing you on the losers bench!

I things I liked most was my favorite pillow and blanket. I wore sandels with a pair of shorts and there crazy gown.

I brought all this stuff that everybody said to bring and Thats all I used. Also, depending on hospital you may have a dvd player in your room, I did. But I was so hopped on pain meds I slept more than I have ever slept in my life. lol

Congratulations! Take some protein water with you to drink in the hospital. Also take a bathrobe to throw across your shoulders for when you walk.  The 24th is just around the corner!
