Congrats on getting your surgery date!  Now..just be careful NOT to gain any weight over your surgery goal weight!  Kaiser can be sticky about that issue :-(  Just keep exercising, eating wisely and taking your vitamins...and building your water consumption up to at least 65oz a day ^_^
Can't wait to see you on the loser's bench!

Thank you!!! The pre-op diet has gone well, because I am so motivated to get this weight off. I am a shorty, so weight loss has always been a challenge, but with this program, the pounds have been falling away. I am walking 3-4 times/week for about 30 minutes. My lower back pain has improved immensely and my stamina is increasing.

I am 4'11 and started at 210 lbs. A lighweight, but it sure felt like a heavyweight to me. My surgery goal wt was 190 and I reached that on 7.2.10. Today, I am down another couple of lbs, so I need to keep the momentum going, and not gain anything past 190. Yes, Kaiser is a stickler for that. The surgeon and scheduler already told me not to gain anymore, or my surgery will be cancelled. That is additional motivation.  :)

I love my sleeve. Best thing I have done in a long time.
Only two other things I love more. My hubby and my son.

That's great!  I am just submitting my paperwork.....how long did it take you after submission to the insurance co?  I have Anthem Blue Cross PPO.  What type of tests are they having you do?  It seems like everyone is different ...which I don't understand.

Every insurance company is different and even varies from state to state. I belong to Kaiser in Northern CA, which has different requirements than Southern CA Kaiser. Check with your insurance company. Most require being up to date with screenings such as mammo, pap, sigmoid/colonscopy, sleep study, ekg, chest x-ray, and psych exam. Some require more in-depth cardiac and pulmonary function tests. All require no smoking for at least 3 months before surgery. Some insurance companies require a 6 month supervised diet, others don't.

Hope this helps.
