Update on Susan's Surgery

Good morning everyone,

Been getting alot of PM's and calls asking how Susan's jouney is going and thought I would give an update.

Susan had completed all her classes and did her eval with Phsyc eval and was cleared for the surgery. Unfortunately, the insurance company denied the surgical coverage. They claimed it was not a covered benifit under the plan. Looking into the coverage we discovered that the company that Susan works for asked to have Bariatric coverage excluded to bring the cost of coverage down.

So we are in the middle of an appeal but does not look like it will happen without a major fight. Kind of frustrating since the company knew what the classes and the eval was for but yet approved the coverage for those but not the surgery.

Have a great day all........Rick

That sucks like nothing else. How rude they would not inform her of it after allowing all the classes.

God bless our troops

Wow, that sure didn't make sense for them to approve all the classes and evals!!! I hope she can get somewhere with the appeals.

How is your toe doing? I hope you're on the mend for good this time!!! You and Susan take care :)

Oh Rick I'm so sorry to hear that.  I so hate insurance companies.  They all knew what she wanted and no one could tell her.  That is just awful.

If you both feel up to it, please come join us for dinner Saturday.  I know she must feel awful, but let us try to lift her spirits a bit.  Hope to see you both there.
