1 Year Surgiversary
Hi Everyone,
Today is 1 year since my surgery. What a year it has been. It has been pretty easy for me so far with no regrets. I would not change a thing if given the chance. I LOVE MY RNY
So here are some of the con's I encountered the 1st year:
1. Loss of much hair
2. Expense of purchasing clothes quite often
3. Getting chicken stuck twice (this will NEVER happen again)
Here are the pro's:
1. Diabetes Gone
2. HPB Gone
3. Cholesterol no longer a problem
4. Went from a 4x top to a XL top
5. Went from size 38 pants to a size 18 pants
6. Walked a 5k just 3 mos after surgery
7. No belt extension in the airplane
8. Rode a 4 wheeler
9. Rode several carnival rides
10. Able to walk without knees or back giving out
11. Total loss of 112 lbs.
12. Total of 50" lost
13. Love and support from my family, friends, & co-workers
14. The many, many wonderful friends I have made here on the boards
15. Clothes shopping in a regular department store and enjoying it
16. Being the smallest person in my family for the 1st time.
17. The small portions of food I can eat
18. The renewed love my DH and I have found
19. Wore a tank top for the 1st time since jr. high
This is just about all I can think of at the moment. I must admit though, that plastic surgery never entered my mind and is still not a priority on my list. I have always had the extra skin for my belly and my DH and kids love me just the way I am. Priority now is paying the house off and then maybe I will consider it.
Hope everyone is having a great day and thanks for reading my post.

It sure is good C'ING LESS OF ME!

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
& all are different colors....but they
ALL exist very nicely in the same box.

Congratulations Annette! Doesn't it seem like just yesterday?? I admit I chuckled when I read your post...3 cons...19 pros...what a statement! As for the 'loose skin'? A friend of mine called it our 'badge of honor'...a testiment to our determination to give ourselves better health ^_^ Proud of you!! Celebrate Life....Celebrate YOU!!

I want to offer my congratulations too! I am so proud of you too! You always have so much to add to our forum, I always appreciate that.
I understand about the plastic surgery. I just can't justify spending that much money on that. If my insurance paid for it I would get it in a second. I figure I am at the "age" where I am going to start looking wrinkled any way! LOL
