Cymbalta Post op Question
Hi all, I don't really post much on here, I just mainly poke around and read and give my two cents on occasion...lol Anyways, I have just completed my options classes and had my appointment last week to finally get a referral for a surgeon consult. However, the referring doctor was hesitant to give me clearance since right now I am on 90 mg of cymbalta, which he considers a high dose.
I have taken cymbalta for about 4 years now. He seems to think the cymbalta is also contributing to my high blood pressure. Although my pcp did take away one of my blood pressure meds since my bp now considered normal, 115/85. I am not a doctor or anything, but I don't really think my hypertension is due to the cymbalta.
So my question to you ladies and gents is are any of you on cymbalta? What has been your experience? Were you on it preop and still on it post op? If so what dosage? How is it taken since it is time released? I am suppose to speak with the surgeon during my consult about this however, I am eager to get some opinions. I did speak to my psychiatrist about it back in may during my psych eval and he said just opening the capsule and putting it in juice to take it should be no problem.
Any input I can get will be appreciated. Thanks. :)
