Good Morning Cali

Hey, I beat you to it Lusty Lu! (of course it is 4:29 a.m.) I have been awake since 3.

Today the mover's come and pack up my mom's things in the U-haul. We can't move my mom in her new apartment until Wed. or Thurs. but the people at the apartment complex said we can leave the u-haul in the parking lot until we can move her in. It is a gated community. My brother, sister, niece and her boyfriend are coming tomorrow to help unpack. We are staying in a suites hotel through Friday morning. It has a kitchen and 2 bedrooms with a king bed in one and 2 double beds in the other. Since I am a member of AARP (yes, I know it is hard to believe but I am old enough--just barely! LOL) we are getting it for about $64.00 a night. The reviews from people were very good too. I have to be there at 10:30 this morning so I can get a room on the floor. My mother can't walk up the steps. She is 81 years old and uses a walker. Speaking of my Mother, she is really excited about her apartment. She lived with her parents until she got married and has lived with my daddy until he was put in the nursing home. They have been with my sister since last June. My Mother needed help with my daddy. Of course the only thing my sister did was help herself to their credit cards and money. I will be so glad when this is over.

So that is the soap opera of my life today. Things are working out and I really do appreciate all of your good thoughts and prayers. I can't wait to get back home to my family. My brother is going to be driving home with me. He lives near that Apple Hill place out of Sacramento. I will be glad to have the company. (and he doesn't know this yet but he is going to do most of the driving!)

I hope everyone has a great day! It is hot here in Las Vegas! I talked to my BFF yesterday and she said it was hot in Merced too. I guess that is why they call this summer! (LOL)

I will be computer less for a while, probably until I get home so don't think I have deserted you guys. You will be in my thoughts and prayers too.

I sure hope the move goes perfectly, which I have no doubt it will.  Sounds like your Mom is ready to begin a new chapter in her life too and she is excited about that.  I am so happy you have some good family support there too.  Prayers and good thoughts continue for a smooth transition for all of you.

Today brings work and some more employment testing this morning.  I will get back to work in the afternoon and work on correcting the tests and contacting applicants for interviews for tomrrow.  It will be a busy process but I sure do enjoy what I am doing and where I am working so that makes things fantastic.

It was a hot one here yesterday 103.  I know it was hotter in the valley, so I sympathize with all of you having to swelter in that.  We planted our late corn yesterday and then hopefully we'll do some sunflowers in the next day or two and I think we'll be done for summer.

Good morning Cali,

Elizabeth you take care in that heat.  Make sure you have plenty of water with you while driving home!

I am on the road again this week.  Driving to Napa at 7:30 this morning it was already 79 degrees, it is going to be hot.  We set up Ms V's pool when we got home yesterday afternoon.  She loves it, it should be nice and warn this afternoon for a dip after school.  Hope DH remembers it is outside and lets her go in.

I will go home on Friday and then we are on the road to lake Berryessa on Saturday (it seems to be never ending this past few months!!).
