Well went to DRs. office today and they said i no longer meet the criteria and they won't do my surgery. I am so down in the dumps right now i am besides myself. Nothing ever goes easy for me. I feel sick to my stomach. I know i can't give up i have to shake these feelings off and go to my next step. I just have to rant abit thanks for listening.

I am so sorry. I can imagine that has to be very very frustrating. What were the specifics that you no longer meet? I hope this is just a small speed bump in your journey

I had surgery for the bypast in Ocq21,2009. they repaired a hernia and then saw i had liver damage. And they closed me up without giving me the RNY. I have since went to the liver Dr. and he said i have nash cirrhosis of the liver but it is not bad enough to take any meds.But he believed i could still have the RNY. But i called the authorization office and they told me to go back to primary Dr. and ask for a second opinion. So that is what i am going to do. I am still trying to keep hope alive.

what criteria do you have to meet???? maybe take a deep breath step back and find another doctor??

Hi Patsy, I am so sorry. Dr. Ali is a smart man and he must have a very good reason for saying no. Is your liver too unhealthy for you to make it thru surgery? If there is anything I can do , let me know. School i out and I am home until Wednesday. My heart goes out to you,

I didn't even get to see Dr. Ali. The girls in front told me. i have cirrhosis but it is not bad enough to take meds. It came from NASH and liver Dr. said i don't have Hep.AB or C. but going back to Dr. so i can get a second opinion. Nothing you can do except listen to my rants and raves. Thank you you've become a good friend and thanks for caring

I would talk to the doctor, not some gals at the front.

Also, what exact criteria is it that you don't meet. You certainly meet the BMI criteria.

Have you considered getting a second opinion?

I will be getting a second opinion. Going to Drs. on friday to get authorization to see some one else for there opinion.
