Finally a CONSULT

So, KAISER finally called me today and I have my consult... woohoo! and they are looking to start scheduling surgeries at St. Bernadine's end of July beg. August.... HOW PERFECT IS THAT???? that's what I was hoping for... Yeah for me...

So, next question... what should I expect at the consult? Will I get my surgery date that day? what do they "consult" about?

That is wonderful time to have surgery, exactly what I wanted, end of July. Wishing, wishing, wishing. Sorry, I don't know the answer. Your the first to post about going to st Bernadine's, so keep us posted on the process.

Congratulations on your consult!

My consult was about 2 1/2 hours long. I met with the Nutritionist, my Surgeon and the Bariatric Coordinator. The Nutritionist went over my current diet and what my diet will be after surgery. The Surgeon went over my medical history, checked my labs and set my 10% weight goal on my highest weight over the past 12 months. The Coordinator explained that I needed to call in my weight monthly to the weight hot line & when I was 5lbs away from my 10% goal to send in the questioner on the booklet they give you. Then they will schedule the psych eval.

From what I have read it seems like every Bariatric department does things a little differently. I have gone through my process at the Fremont Bariatric department.

Thanks everyone... as the days get closer... the more nervous I become, but also the more excited I become to start a new lifestyle and begin changing into the "half of me"

Kaiser is a mess, just got off the phone, looking of my file. I ask about St. Bernadine and they told me. No, they are not doing surgery out here. Didn't argue with them, just hope they send my file to Pacific by this week.

wow! that's strange that they would have said that...and here I have a consult to go to St. B's. whoever you talked to, didn't know what they are talking about.... strange...

that's ok though... i went to the St. B's seminar last week and they new nothing about a Kaiser doc coming in.... I asked them, and the only answer they can give me is that Kaiser doesn't work outta their facility and they only have Dr. Kahn as s surgeon. HA! yeah right! unless I am getting mislead into a wrong direction... which I better not be....
