I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day; a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning. JB Priestly

Good Morning Cali Friends, what are you thankful for today?

Today I am thankful for...

1.  A relaxing but productive weekend.

2.  Health and abounding energy

3.  A wonderful job doing what I love and working for a wonderful boss.

OK your turn, what are you thankful for today?

Good morning Barb....Love the quote, and that picture is just fabulous.  Anyway, I'm thankful for having a terrific weekend with my honey.

Had a great time at coffee Saturday morning. Saw old friends and met a couple of new people.

Wonderful time at a friend's home for dinner Saturday night.

And a relaxing day at home with Mike on Sunday.  Oh, and I'm especially thankful that my meatloaf turned out great.  Turkey meatloaf that was so moist and so good.  Mike couldn't stop saying how delicious it was.

Almost time for vacation.  I'm so thankful for that.

Hope everyone has a great day.  Enjoy the beautiful sunshine.  Even if you are stuck inside, look out a window. The beauty of the day will be there.

Steph can you send me your meatloaf recipe? I tried one the other day and it wasn't so great. Thanks!

Here you go Elizabeth.  It's really easy and it was just delicious.

1 pound ground turkey
1 egg
1/2 cup Italian Breadcrumbs
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tbls. spicy mustard

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.  I use my hands and just mu**** all together.  Place in a pan.  Actually I just "plop" it in and form into a loaf. I usually use one of those throw away aluminum tins because the ketchup on top drips down and will sort of burn the bottom of the pan and it's just easier to then throw the pan away. Squirt ketchup on the top and spread it all around.  Cook at 350 degrees for about 45 - 50 minutes.  You want to see some browning almost like a crusting in spots along the top and sides.  Let it sit for about 5 - 10 minutes outside the oven before serving.  That allows it to rest and makes for much nicer slices.

That's it.  Like I said it was just yummy and so moist.

Barb, that is a great quote and I love the photo too! It looks so relaxing!

Today I am thankful for. . .

A nice weekend.

The people who were in and had anything to do with Bye, Bye Birdie. Merced Playhouse put it on. It takes a lot of courage to get up in front of strangers and sing and dance.

Another new day, (Just like the quote says)

I'm thankful for this surgery and the new 'life' it has given me...
I'm thankful for the support and friendship found on-line and in person because of this surgery and the WLS community...
