im sure many people will tell you that your tastes change postop. so even if you find one you love now, you may not be able to stand it after your surgery. a lot of people order sample packs from various places and then just try them out. i found that everything except isopure tasted like vomit to me...yuk

This is what I do post op.  I'll go to the local support group once in awhile and hand out small samples of my favorite protein shake.  I'll put 1-2oz in baggies and write the name of the product.  They can mix it with milk and see if they like it.  Most people go hog wild on their purchase of their protein powder...a large tub...then can't stand the taste post op.
If I were you, I would ask people at the local support group for samples...Or anyone you know who has had WLS (friends, co-workers, neighbors, ect.) for a small sample of their favorite shake...Taste before you put down the big bucks.  Brian

that is brilliant!!! where was this post 6 months ago.  lol..
my issue now is my clothes dont fit and i dont want to spend a lot to replace them when in 6 more months they arent going to fit again.  the support group is all old people on scooters and well, im old, I ok, not that old, and not on a scooter. so the swap thing is out of the question, thrift stores are not fat chick freindly, so i have a hard time finding anything except the ocasional shirt.

ANY IDEAS???

Well Smurf,

I have to tell you, that you have received some great advice from everyone before me. My personal choice is World Wide Protien Shake, it is a 12 oz shake and it provides 35 grams of pure whey protien. It comes in allot flavors, I am fond  of Chacolate or Banna. I got tiered of the powders pretty quick, and I found 2 or 3 of these a day gave me all the required protien I needed, and when I first started out it was a great meal as well.

Take Care & Good Luck
