I have ordered a sample pack from Chike.com and you only pay postage. I have ordered Bariatric eating.com sample pack (expensive) and the taste is okay. Chike has bang for your buck.
Vitalady.com has samples of everything under the sun for 1.99 each. They come in small packaged plastic sealed bags... yummy.

I have tried designer whey and they're okay. I toss peaches, SF cool whip and SF peach syrup and make a peach smoothie.

Celebrate vitamins (don't know website but you can get it off of baritric tv site) has YUMMY chewables and will send you some samples - I haven't tried their powders yet but I know where I'm getting my vitamins from.

I'm still pre-op so my tastes haven't changed.

The powder that I can't stand is the CVS bag of powder cookies and cream but the rest of em...love it.

Hope this helps and good luck with your surgery!
Peace
Binda

I have wasted enough of my life worrying about what people think of me.

I had my surgery 4 yrs ago, and I bought a product called Profect..there was an ad about it on this messge board. I really loved it because you would get a large amount of protein (I think 25g) in like 3 ounces of fluid. It comes in tubes that you refrigerate so they are nice and chilled when you need them.

Hope this helps!

I ordered the Profect samples on Friday.  I am glad to hear some feed back on them.  My thought was 25g of protein in 3 oz sounds really good!

Cool! I loved them because I didn't have to worry so much about getting my protein in. For me, there was such a routine to follow after surgery, protein, meals, and lots of sips of water! So, when it was time for my protein drink, there it was....no mixing, just take of the top and drink!

Best to you!

Some to try are ready made World Wide Protein.  I like the chocolate.  Reminds me a bit of Yoo Hoo.  I also like Nectar brand powder, especially Strawberry.

HOWEVER, and this is most important, you need to know that what you like now, you may hate after surgery.  No one seems to know why but our taste buds tend to change after surgery.  So, sure try some and have something ready for after surgery, but don't buy too much of anything.  Wait until after surgery to determine what you like then.

Good luck.

Well put, Steph...getting samples are best because your tastes can change post op. Mine didn't with my protein drinks, but did with other things!

Hi Ya Smurf.  Like stephanie I am a fan of the world wide premixed shakes.  I like the vanilla, strawberry, and cookies and cream are my favs. They have 35 mg of protein but aren't thick so should be easy on a new pouchie. I like them very cold though.  In the beginning I loved muscle milk, but I found it had WAY to much maltodextrin, so I was a shakey mess an hour after a 300 calorie shake :-(.  I would sugest to keep trying them after your surgery because  Just like Steph said what you like now WILL change and then change again...lol.   Keep your eye on the ingredients and nutrition list.

Your journey is about to begin.....Enjoy it!!
