Must be an update kinda month!
I'm here. Or rather baaaaack!
I have several excuses for not being here. All lame. My computer broke, I spent more time on Facebook. I have been too busy, etc. Out riding my Harley. All kinda lame.
Bottom line is I haven't been seeking the support of this group and guess what..........I gained 15#. Now is the time to get a hold of this and back in line and back on the support wagon. I need it!
I know how I gained it. I know why I gained it. I gained it because I started drinking Root Beer. (yes, it could be worse it could be real beer or wine). It all started when I found out I could handle sugar. Darn I am a soda and caffeine addict. Specifically Diet Pepsi. So determined to NOT get hooked on Diet Pepsi again (I was an 12 - 18 can a day addict prior to surgery) I foolishly tried orange soda and root beer. Our vending machine here sells Barqs and at the time I didn't know that Barqs has CAFFEINE. Damnit. To my credit, however, I did let it go flat before I drank it so the fizzies didn't stretch my tummy out. My root beer habit has grown to the point where I'm craving it so................ once again I have gone COLD TURKEY on it and switched back to water or crystal lite.
I am confident that now that I've dumped that habit the 15# will fall off. Also being that it's summer again and my activity level increases so will my weight decrease. I have armed myself with diet A&W root beer to ease myself through those really tough times when I just have to have a root beer or kill someone. There is no sugar and no caffeine in this stuff so it will be just a mental relief. To help me along with breaking this habit is the fact that we're going camping for 8 days and there is no fast food restaurants that carry Barqs (or root beer for that matter - just McDonalds and they don't have it) and I won't allow myself to buy any at Safeway.
On another note Joe and I are doing better than ever. He's healing from Rotator Cuff surgery and I'm just toddling along with him. We're getting a Bow Flex machine for our back room along with a tread mill. We have tv back there so we can put movies on and just take care of business.
I've been on a few Harley rides with him following behind in the truck and enjoying every minute. I can hardly wait until he's released to ride by the doctor but that's going to be another couple of months!
I'm still taking every single vitamin I am supposed to. Twice daily I take a multi-vitamin, vitamin c, my calcium, B vitamin complex, D3, Biotin, and cranberry. My blood levels are good with the exception of my sugar levels (hellllo - you think it's the damn root beer?) which are at a 98.
Just thought I'd pop in and say hi and see what everyone's doing. Jayden and I will be flying to Nebraska at the end of July for a family reunion. It'll be interesting to show him all the interesting things about Nebraska (as soon as I can find them.........)
I s'pose I should get back to work. Gotta love allergy season - I've got vertigo so bad this morning and all I can take is Sudafed.
MoMo!

MoMo!
Diet Barqs Root Beer was my favorite before surgery. I did not realize it has caffeine in it either. It is nice to hear from you. I am glad your DH is doing better. I had that surgery too and he took .5 inch of bone off the end of my shoulder as well. (Impingement Syndrome) It is not a fun surgery.
I know you will get those 15 lbs off. I hope the allergies get better!
Hi MoMo,
I was thinking about you the other day as I have puppies right now and last we talked you had pups. Glad you're back and nipping the gain in the butt! My hubby is a diet A&W addict. I always have a 12 pack in my car :-) Sounds like you've got your head in the right place.
Welcome Back
