hi guys... it's question time again :)

I have been cleared to start working out and weight train. So I joined LA Fitness. I am great at cardio but I am not so great with free weights. I was just wondering how everyone went about getting toned and build muscle after surgery. I had an initial appointment with a personal trainer and it was great but they too expensive for me to use. Did anyone go about it on their own? If so can you give me some examples of the weight training you did to tone your arms, back, chest, and legs. I am not going to focus on my abs too much since I am going to need a tummy tuck. I will do some abs but it wont be my main focus. Can anyone help me out and point me in the right direction??

Thanks guys.

I am wrinkly everywhere so I really can't give you any advice, but I wanted to say I am so glad you are feeling better! I know it has been a hard road for you. I just walk and chase my grandkids around for ex cerise!

Hi,
Right now I am doing pretty good. Dr. Taller told me to try and be as normal as I can and that doing stuff like working out will help me keep my mind off of everything that has happened or may happen. I still have the fear that I will end up in the hospital again but as of right now I am doing pretty good. I am so keeping my fingers crossed.

Nathalie,

I just wanted to tell you I am so happy you are doing well.  I have been thinking about you and keeping you in thoughts and prayers.

I know what you mean about a personal trainer. I wanted to go that route too, but due to costs had to end that.  I found that my Wii Fit helps and I think it's fun too.  I am so proud of you for continuing to move forward despite all that you've endured!

Hugs,
Barb

Thanks for the encouragement. I have to keep pushing forward and try to be "normal" I just feel behind on weight loss since I had that month in the hospital on TPN. I had absolutely no weight loss that month. Now it is time to catch up.

*hugs*

I have a subscription to Fitness magazine, there's always all sorts of great workouts in there.

A coworker once gave me the idea of ripping out the pages and putting them inside a plastic sheet cover. She takes them to the gym and travels with them too so she always has a workout regimen with her.

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Hey Nathalie, here's a website for you.

Also if you have a I-phone or I-touch there are great workout apps on them!!

Good luck!!!
