One year ago today!!

I was heading to surgery for my RNY.  I cannot believe it has been a year already.  So much has happened and I have met so many nice people here on OH.  It was funny because the surgery nurse was trying to talk me out of surgery, I was down to 169 pounds and she said I was too small for surgery.  I told her I could always lose the weight it was keeping it off!!

My surgeon was great, I have stuck with the program and I am below my goal weight by 13 pounds!!  I did this for my myself, but mostly for my daughter.  I no longer have to take 3 diabetic medicines a day and can eat what ever I feel I want (with moderation).  I do not feel deprived, nor do I feel I have had to deprive my family because I do not want to eat certain foods anymore.  We are all working to stay healthier (of course DH has gained a few pounds from eating my leftovers!!). 

I am so glad I made the decision, it is the second best one I have made in my life (the first was marrying my soul-mate!!).  Thank you all for your support for over a year, I am blessed to have found the Cali board.
