Blaming others is an emotional drain; accepting responsibility and taking action is an emotional energizer. The good news is that you have control over both options.

Good Morning Cali Friends, what are you thankful for today?

Today I am thankful for...

1.  The sun shining and the forecast calls for it to continue!

2.  Being able to work in the garden this weekend, yippee we're going to plant our fruit trees and our squashes and watermelons!

3.  My husband who has worked incredibly hard on our backyard.  May it become his oasis (and farmer's market).

OK your turn, what are  you thankful for today?

Good morning Barb,

What a beautiful, windy day here in the IE.  But the sun is shinning and it's a 3 day weekend. So today I am definitely thankful for

1.  My gorgeous, brilliant son who has finally realized his girlfriend of 6 years is not the girl he wants to spend his life with and that he has found the strength to breakup with her and get her to move out of the apartment they have been sharing.  There is so much more to this situation that it would take a book to write it all, but I'm just thankful my son is moving on.  Guess I'll have to wait a bit longer to be a grandma, but that is good so long as my son is happy.

2.  Thankful that my house is actually looking good enough for me to feel comfortable having company over and that will happen tomorrow night.

3.  Thankful for the cup of coffee I'm about to head into the kitchen and get.

Hope you have the most wonderful weekend, Barb.  And thank you for keeping this post going.  I know I don't post to it very much or even to the board much, but I look at it everyday and your quotes and positive energy just always make my day better.  Thank you for not abandoning OH like so many others.

Stephanie,

Thanks so much for your kind words and I am so happy that your son has strength and courage to make this change.  Certainly better now than later.  I will keep him in thought and prayers.

I feel that it is SO important to stay connected to OH to not only help our newbies but to help myself stay entrenched in this new lifestyle.  I have about 40 lbs to go and need to get back on track to get there.  I won't abandon OH, the work that needs to be done to help others is SO important.  I am here and not going anywhere!  I'm not in to the drama, just here to support others in a positive way.  So glad you like Daily Thanksgivings and you enjoy it.

Hugs,
Barb

Thanks bunches Elizabeth!  You're just too cute.  I sure hope you'll get over this way for a lunch this summer.
