Medi-cal

Hi My name is Claudette, and i am trying to find a surgeon here in northern california that will except medi-cal for my gastric Bypass sugery.. I need help! i am calling every sugeon in the book and not finding anything.. please help point me in any direction if you can!! Thanx so much

If you look on the California page of Obesity Help (very top few posts) you'll see a posting titled "medicare/medicaid" surgeons.  There's a whole bunch of posts from people giving info about surgeons that take medicare/medicaid (or "medi-cal" here in California).

I believe that there is a surgeon in Modesto who accepts Medi-Cal. I believe that it is Patrick Coates. However, he is limited to what counties he can have patients in. Good Luck.

Hi Claudette!� If I remember correctly my surgeon (Dr. Patrick Coates) takes Medi-Cal depending on which Medi-Cal you have.� I had private insuance when I had surgery but my friend had Blue Cross Medi-Cal and had surgery with him in 2006.� She went from seminar to surgery in about 6 weeks and was approved based souly on her weight.� I'll send you a PM�with their office number.
