SANTA CRUZ WEEKEND MAY 21-22

Hi all,

Our monthly NorCal lunch has turned into a Santa Cruz weekend! I am looking forward to having all of you in my hometown.

On Friday, May 21, for those of you who are spending the night, is there any interest in getting together for a late-ish dinner? If you are interested, please let me know. I am thinking a 7:30 pm dinner either on the wharf or downtown would be fun.

On Saturday, May 22, for those of you in town, is there any interest to meet for breakfast at 8 am and do a walk on the beach or along West Cliff Drive afterwards? Please let me know that as well.

For the day, we will be meeting at NOON in front of the Merry Go Round on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. If you're coming in for the day, I suggest just paying the fee to park across the street on Beach Street. There really isn't another alternative. If you are staying at a hotel that is walkable to the Boardwalk, definitely leave your car there and walk. We can see if people want to go to lunch at noon before hitting the rides or if people just want to get on the rides.

The Boardwalk has an all day pass which I recommend if you plan on riding more than 4 to 5 rides. Sometimes it can take a long time to stand and line and get your pass so you might want to come earlier than noon to stand in line and get your pass. For those of you who get motion sickness, the Boardwalk does have several rides that aren't whirl and hurls.

Hey Richelle, I am sorry I am not going to be able to make it. I have other plans for the weekend. I also need to save my money for our vacation the next week. We are going to Lake Almanor. My youngest son and his girlfriend are meeting us up there. I am looking forward to having time with them. I hope everyone has a great time at the beach!

I so wish I could come up.  I LOVE Santa Cruz and Mike's niece lives there.  But unfortunately this weekend is out for us.  But we will probably plan a trip up there to visit the "kids" at the end of the summer or early in the fall.  Maybe when we do that, we can meet up with you.  It would be lovely to meet you in person.

I'm planning to be there but I'm just driving down on Sat. after my morning Group Power class. I may or may not be bringing Mr. Mac with me. (He's still deciding.)

Ron and I will be there and it looks like we may be staying on Fri nite after all, so depending on traffic, we might be able to get there for dinner.  Will keep you posted!

I think Bonnie and I may drive down for the day. 

Costco has Board Walk passes.  If I remember correctly, it's $54.95 for two day passes.  That might be a good alternative to the lines.

Darn! Why aren't I in NorCal yet?! Sounds like all of you are going to have a wonderful weekend! Whoo-hoo!! I would love to meet you some day, Richelle! Have fun, make plenty of memories, and somebody please post some pictures!! :-)
