It's Sunday! What's happening OHers?

Hi all,

Good morning! I am having a weekend where I've had more free time than I've had in months. I love it! I even had to decide what I was going to do because I didn't have anything scheduled! Free time is like bliss to me. I spent several hours with a friend watching the first season, first edition GLEE DVDs until 1 am. We didn't realize how late it was!

My mom seemed to be going well yesterday. I'll check in with her again today. She has her house to herself for the first time in a month and like me, seems to be enjoying alone time. She has three more chemo treatments over the next 3 weeks and then a test to determine if the chemo is working. We shall see.

I am running downstairs now to read the Sunday paper from cover to cover and hoping one of my four legged fuzzy kitties will curl up next to me.

What are all of you doing for the day?

Good morning....well actually afternoon already

Been a nice weekend here.  We bought all our fruits and veggies for planting yesterday and got started on that.  Will be finishing up in just a little bit.  On the down side, I had a bit of an accident and fell off the steps backwards at the front door.  It wasn't a pretty site that is for sure.  Have really messed up my foot.  It's not broken but it is very swollen and my toes are a lovely shade of purpleish/black and boy oh boy does it hurt.  Walking is just almost impossible.  Sometimes I'm just so clumsy it makes me crazy. But I have some tomatoes and strawberries planted.  Today will be the zucchini and peppers and then I'll be done.  We are planting in those hanging containers so it will be interested to see what we actually are able to harvest out of it.  I'm hoping alot.  I'm planting 4 containers so I can pretty much sit while doing it and then Mike is hanging them for me.

We just got back from breakfast and a trip to Home Depot for some more yard supplies so time to get into my "working" clothes and crawl out the door and get busy.  Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday.  It's hot here, but really beautiful as the humidity is very low.  Have a great day everyone.

Hi Stephanie,

Sorry to here about your injuries. Yikes! I hope you give yourself the time you need to heal and have those toes turn back to a normal color. Make sure you take photos while they're still purple :-)

We've planted tomatoes and zuchinni too. I was so excited to see an actual zuchinnin growing from that tiny plant I put in the soil just a month or so ago. Until last year, I had no idea I had the ability to grow food!!

Take care of yourself. I hope you have good pain meds too!

Like Ms.Blues, I live in Santa Cruz too. It was a low minimum tide today so my husband, dog and I headed to the beach for an early morning walk. It was wonderful at 7 AM....with the minimum tide, the beach seems to go on forever. The weather was cool, I found some pieces of sea glass and the dog had a marvelous time meeting and greeting several other canine friends. After that we did the weekly grocery run at the supermarket and Costco. Now my husband is alternating between the Giants baseball game and the Sharks hockey game on TV. LOL That is why I am on the computer! I hope everyone has a great relaxing Sunday!

Hi Cindy,

Do you know about a bunch of NorCal OHers gathering in Santa Cruz next weekend? Many people are booking hotel rooms, but I believe the main day for fun is on Saturday. We're all meeting at the Boardwalk and maybe some people will hang at the beach. Just wanted to make sure you knew and that you're welcome to join in the fun.

Thanks for the info. I am seldom on the board lately so I guess I missed it. Is there an agenda or something with times and meeting places? I might join the group for awhile if I knew the stats! Thanks so much for thinking of me!

I have been sick all day so needless to say I have not really done anything. i had a really bad dumping episode last night after dinner. I only ate steak. I felt very weak and dehydrated this morning. I have been pushing the liquid protein today. I am finally starting to feel better. I am going to the doctor on Tuesday. I am dumping about every other day. It seems I so best if I eat soft foods only.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Elizabeth,

I hope you get to the bottom of what is making you dump. I've had this happen a couple of times and it's horrible. Keep us posted!
