May OH Conference

Hi,

I'm Janet from Arcadia and post on the lap band forum but wanted to say hi to this forum.  I'm going to the May 21 OH conference and wondered if any of the forums will try to meet sometime at the conference to say hi face to face. If so, how does one know about it? Also does the conference need any extra help?

Welcome to the CA forum.  I will be attending the OH convention as well.  There are several of us on this board that will be attending and several that will be participating in the Fashion Show on Saturday evening.

No one has really discussed the possibility of hooking up sometime to say hi and meet.  I am sure we could get a thread going on it though.  Keep your eye on the CA forum, I will try and post something in the next few days.

Saturday night we are on our own for dinner from 6 - 8pm.  Those that are in the fashion show need to report at about 7:45.  We could possibly meet for dinner.  Being that I am in the fashion show, I would want to have some extra time to change clothes naturally.  Not sure how the restaurant is in the hotel, but there is sure to be many places around to eat.

For posting purposes, you could also post here on this board as well.  There are many bandsters here to say the least.  We are a nice group of people that offer each other the necessary support, there are daily quotes & thanksgivings, there is a wacky weigh in Wednesday and the last weekend of the month we get together at Starbucks in Long Beach for a gathering and clothing exchange.  There is also a group up north that posts here daily and we have all become good friends online here and some have even had the opportunity to meet due to travels or just because.

Again welcome to the CA forum and hope to see you posting.

Just to clarify,it is me going with Michelle now instead of Howard. We will be there Saturday and we are staying at the closest Motel 6 Sat. night. We are very much looking forward to it! Friday is my 3 year surgiversary!!!!

Hey there, I'm going too and am also in the fashion show =) 

Not sure when in Cali you are but I also invite you to join us in Long Beach if you like.  We meet the LAST Saturday of the month at a Starbucks off Bellflower (I think) from like 9am till about 11/12ish.  We post about it starting the last week of the month! 

We also have a camping thing we do once a year about an hourish from LA and sometimes we get together and do other things.  So if you are local to So Cal don't be a stranger over here on the Cali forum!

Thanks for all the posts. Arcadia is adjacent to Pasadena in the San Gabriel Valley so LB is a drive down the 605 fwy for me.

I'm going as well.  Any other hotels near the event that were cheaper than $99?

$99 is a really special good rate (reg rate is $149-199). You can google "Irvine motels" and check for yourself. $99 is the cheapest rate for La Quinta inns which isn't as nice but parking is free there. All others I checked were higher than $99. I'm just staying 1 night but you have a farther way to drive.
