Just moved to Southern Ca from Maryland

I have been a member of OH since 2007 and had lap band in 2008..I just moved to Ca (3 weeks ago) from the east coast and realized I have no support out here..lol...I figured I would hop on the board and check out the CA forum...Can anyone be of help and direct me in a support group around my area..? Thanks!

well you moved to the right place! Southern Cali has the best support groups ever and i miss my old crew. i moved back to northern cali and haven't found one yet that was so supportive or family oriented as they were down in so cal. just thought i would put my 2 cents in. i am a big lurker now and saw your post  ... no worries there is plenty of support help available in that area.

So I was going to yell at you as to why no belly pictures and then I thought to look on your profile.....DUH.  OMG you look too cute.  AND...you look so healthy and so happy.  I'm smiling just thinking about you.  We miss you so much down here.  Can't wait for the arrival and for  you to bring "our" baby to visit us.  Miss you and love you, sweetie.  Feel good and take care.

It's a little bit of a drive, but we'd love you to join our Nor Cal Losers lunch bunch!  We're lunching in Concord on Sat. (see my post a little futher down the list).  A greater group of the nicest guys and gals you'll ever wanna meet!  We'll be in Santa Cruz in May for a fun weekend, with our "activity director" Ms. Blues at the helm!  She comes to our luncheons from Santa Cruz!  So we hope you'll join us.  Nancy & Elizabeth come from Elk Grove by Sacramento and Merced, so we come together from near and far.  So worth it!

Hi, Jaime--

There is a great support group at the CHOMP (Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula), actually two--one for newbies, and the other for those of us who are more than one year post-op.  As a matter of fact, there is an Advanced GBS support group meeting next week, Wednesday, 4/28/09 in Conf. Rm A at 6 PM.  C'mon over!  There's a lot of active support there, and we're always open to new folks.

I don't know of any support groups, I live in the Central Valley, but I did want to welcome you to the Cali Board. We have wonderful people here. I hope you find a good local group to attend.

Hope you like it here, I've lived in CA all my life (Nor Cal) and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.  We love it here.  I just know you'll find a wonderful group of folks down there and will fit right in.  Hope you enjoy our Cali Forum, we have lots of super nice people who are always here to help and support.

I am coming to Palm Springs middle of June to prepare for surgery on the 28th and would love to meet some other SGM/WLS people.  I am 29, my aunt is coming over from Florida however I would really like support from those who have had this done!
