Good Evening Everyone,

I have a question for those of you that may actually have a net book.  I am looking to purchase a netbook.  Really all I need it for is to be able to watch movies (streaming of course), post here on the OH board and facbook.  If I need to create a document or spreadsheet, I am able to download the necessary program.

If you have one, could you please share your experience with me and what you have in the form of brand, memory, & hard drive.  I will be going out of state to the pit center of New Mexico and it would be nice to have communications with my OH family while there.  My mom does not have cable, nor does she even have any way to watch a movie.  She watches CNN like 24/7 which drives me nuts.  The air in NM is so crisp, with beautiful skies at night that most nights I just lay in bed with the curtains drawn and window open taking it all in.

I would like to make the purchase within the next couple of weeks, so any guidance you can offer would be greatly appreciated.  I have thought about a lap top, but really, I have no need for a lap top as I have a great desktop at home and at the office.

Thanks for your help.

I have an Eeepc 8.9 inch netbook. I will tell you it is great for traveling with. E-mail, web surfing, etc. I do not nor would I stream movies on it. It is to slow and the battery life is too short. Most netbooks have a 1.6 atom processor.
I would suggest stepping upto the new Eeepc. it can do what you want. check it out. http://promos.asus.com/US/EeePC_1005PR/ASUS_1005PR.html
