weight loss STOPPED!
My surgery was in July of last year, I hit my 100# mark and everything has stopped. Yes I exercise, I walk 4 days a week with weights, water aerobics 2 days (we tease our teacher and call her Hitler in a bathing suit) and now nothing, well I actually gained 3 #'s, but everyone keeps teling me the fat/muscle thing, and I'm not buying it. I uped my protien drinks (35gms per can) I do the Pure Protien from Trader Joes, eat tuna, chicken some beef, few vegies (whisch I miss badly) So what do I do? Am I doing something wrong. I guess I should say I have dropped from a size 28 to a 16/18. My next apt with my Dr is on the 10th, and I had hoped to be down another 10# by then, but its not moving!. Any Advice?
Journal everything you eat and I mean everything. You might be surprised at your calorie intake. It may just be too high for weight loss. You won't know unless you write it all down and add it all up. If you take in more calories then you burn off, you won't lose weight.
You also may just be at a plateau. It happens and if you are eating about 1,000 calories a day and exercising 3 to 5 days a week then eventually the scale will move. Your metabolism just turns off after a while and it sometimes takes a while for it to get started again. However you say you aren't losing weight and you don't say how longs it's been since you lost any weight. If it's only been a few weeks or even a month then don't get all upset. That is what happens.
Again, journal everything you eat and add those calories up, and keep exercising.

Hi Ladies,
Thanks, I started diet diary again about 2 months ago, and never really paid much attention to it, my cals are right at about 900 to just over 1000 a day, and it is mostly protien with a few carbs and veges thrown in. I do 3 meals, breakfast, luch, dinner, and my drinks as my snacks, just like the Dr said to do. there are days when I just don't want to eat at all, and I get in trouble with it. Protien alone just doesn't do it. Another friend suggested flipping my meals, eat dinner for breakfast and viceaversa. I'm trying everything at this point. thanks

Hey there. I agree with Stephanie, you need to write everything down. If you are exercising that much, maybe your not be eating enough. How often a day are you eating? If you are only doing 3 meals a day, try eating 6 small meals a day. Sometimes, the body just needs to take a moment to catch up. You are doing a great job. Just take it one day at a time. I hope this helps.
