age...
Hi Everybody, I would really like to get some opinions here. How much do u think a persons healing is age related? I am 59, first off, I thought the Doc would tell me I'm too old...but got pass that one..lol. I am pretty healthy actually, I just wonder if I will have a harder time getting thru this. I read lots of responses, but most seem quite a bit younger than me. Thanks in advance for your opinions
I think the most important tip I can give is to follow the advice of your surgeon and you'll do great. Each surgeon's protocol is completely different, so you will get varying post op eating plans etc. I had my surgery at UCSF and they are calorie driven post op not protein driven, various schools of thought. But I followed their program and have done amazingly well weight wise and labs have been perfect. I'd like to lose about 45 more lbs. All medications are gone that I used to take for diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol and my asthma is in check completely. I have had no issues.
You're never too old to get healthy, I'm gonna always be a work in progress
What's that they say... 50 is the new 30? LOL
Hugs,
Barb

Hi Barb: I thankyou for your words of inspiration to me, made me feel alot better, You are so right about the different plans the Docs use post surgery, mine is all about the protein and fluids the first 2 weeks. My sugery is 3 weeks from tomorrow....I am scared, I'd be lying if I said and differently. Take care Barb and hugs back at ya. Franni
