I am seriously pissed off at the scale today!!!!! I have been the same weight for 5 days now and I am SICK of it. So to show that stupid scale exactly what I thought about it's stupidity I ate until it hurt!!!!! I am happy to say that the scale is very sorry and will try to do better on Saturday when I am brave enough to weigh in again!!! Don't mess with me...... I'm on a diet!!!

Now you are only human! Don't beat yourself up, start again now. We all know how hard it is. I am reading a book titled Women Food and God by Geneen Roth. She makes some really good points in it. Give it a try you can get it at Barnes and Nobles. It sounds religious but it really isn't. If the title bothers you. Good Luck!

I am only human but I'm a human with a big flipping stomach that acts like it's starving 24/7. i still have 10 pounds to go before I can get on the wait list for the surgery. There is a little too much on plate sometimes and today I just had enough. I'm already back on the wagon though I guess I needed to vent on then move on. I'm happy that you made it to your goal weight. I have actually lost 80 pounds twice I just wasn't able to keep it off. That is why i want to change my stomach. It is the only thing keeping me down. Big Hill Little Steps. Take Care

Well I am an encourager by nature, I am not good at giving people a good kick in the ass! I understand about losing the weight and then putting it back on. I have graduated Weigh****chers twice and can't even remember how many times I went back, I have lost weight on Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig and just about any diet you have read about. The problem is I would always go back to my old eating habits. That is why I had this surgery, I had to do something drastic. I do know that in the end it is up to me to keep it off.

I hope you feel free to vent or ask any questions on this board anytime. We are here to help each other, lift each other up, and yes even give each other a kick in the ass from time to time.

Thanks for your efforts!!! I need all the help I can get during this pre-op time. My favorite past time lately is venting with a vengence. I'm usually not such an angry person but this whole process is bringing out the demon in me:( I will definately be here every day looking for support!

This is all so much easier after the surgery.  At least for the first week.  So hang in. It gets better.

You are so lucky to be done with the surgery! I wish I was where you are right now. I hope everything is going well post-op for. Happy thoughts for fast weight loss going your way! :)

(((Hug)))

I found that upping the protein in my diet made a BIG difference in my hunger;  I started pre-op eating as if I were eating Post-op, so I was testing protein powders, etc., for things that were tasty.  I found that the more protein I ate, the less hunger I had.  WW used to have me absolutely ravenous after a cereal and milk breakfast, so that by 10 am I was starving.  Of course, I wasn't aware of "refined carb poisoning" then.  Once I started doing protein shakes for breakfast, I haven't had a raging starvation problem since.

Hang in there--it will happen.

OK....  So I did exactly what you did and upped my protein to over 30% of my calories for the day.  It is working really well and I don't feel hungry at all. I really want to lose this weight and I am working my butt off and now I think I might make it!!!! Thanks for the advice and encouragement.

I'm sorry you are struggeling, and can totally understand your frustration. I also had my surgery done at Freemont Kaiser, and was required to do the 10% weightloss. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I agree with Lynn's recommendation on eating like you have already had the surgery. That's what I did also, and I really focused on upping my protien. I also had planned out snacks and eating these little meals helped me stay focused. I also had to avoid social situations for the most part and avoid going out to eat, unless I knew what I was going to order (but even then sometimes it was hard to do the right things). I had a protien shake every morning and ate a lot of greek yogurt, this helped keep me full longer. I know it's hard, but you CAN do it! Just remember to keep your eye on the prize and know that the sooner you get to goal the sooner you will have the surgery. Hang in there and take care.
