Hi Everyone,

I am one week out from surgery today.  I went to my primary care physician, and I will not restarting my blood preasure meds.  He was so excited and supportive of my surgery.  I am starting to get more exercise and I made a cream of mushroom soup that was delicious.  I feel great.

Those of you waiting.  I first talked to my primary care physician February 2009 so I completely understand you frustration.  But it is well worth the wait.

Wow, Congratulations on 1 week post op and feeling great.  Isn't it wonderful having a PCP that is supportive of your decision and cheers you on along the way?

My PCP is the exact same way and I am off all but 2 medications.  I am hoping to be off them very soon once she reads my blood work results this week.

Welcome to the losers bench.

Yeah, my PCP in an endocronologist and he refers a lot of patients for WLS.  He even has an assistant who does nothing but the paperwork for the surgery patients.  When I first went to see her she was overweight.  About half way through my approval process she had the surgery herself and was back to work 2 days later.  My doctor told me today that he had assigned her that task so she would see the benefit and decide to have the surgery.  He is very sneaky.

Your doctor must really care for his assistant.  He may have actually saved her life without doing a thing.  Does this make sense?

Sneaky on his part yes, but bravo to him for doing it in a matter where the decision was hers with no pressure.
