Getting the run around

So this whole "getting the 6 month diet overturned" thing is irritating me.

I contacted DMHC and they can't take my case as I'm medi-cal and not managed health care. They pointed me to Medi-cal offices. Medical told me to call Social Security as I have "SSI Medical" not.."medical"..so I call Social Security and they tell me to ....call medi-cal. -_-

Finally I'm told because I have SSI Medical - I don't have a "worker" I just ask whoever answers the phone, whatever question I have.

So I asked..I was given a number and told my provider has to call to see if anything can be covered... UGHHHHH now I'm waiting for a call back from the insurance lady at my surgoens office.

Anyone have ANY info that would be helpful? This 6 month thing is KILLING my back. I missed school today becuase I can't even sit up for more than 15 minutes!!!

Call your Congressmember!!! They will have direct contacts within these agencies to help you. First of all the Congressmember will figure out if what you're needing is provided by the federal or state government. If it's federal, your congressmember will help you, if it's the state, your congressmember can tell you who your Assemblymember and State Senator are.

Don't bother trying to work directly with these agencies. Your representatives have specific people they can call to help you.

You need to call 916.636.1980. This is the number that Medi-Cal patients can call with any questions on coverage, status of TAR, etc. As far as the 6 month monitored, if you have at least 6 doctor visits in the last 24 months where your doctor talked to you about your diet/weight and they weighed you, this works. Also, you can always submit a letter from your PCP & surgeon with your TAR explaining why you are unable to do a 6 month monitored diet. Occasionally, they will let it go if medically you are unable to do the diet. Good Luck!!

  I work for a non profit who specializes in assisting people w/ any health issue. Let me know if you are still having problems. Do you have the mcal regs re: surgery? I know it's a bit frustrating.  let me know if you still need help.

If you have SSI than yes, you do not have a mcal worker and you go to the department of public social services closest to your home. But you would not be calling them for assistance with this.  This has to go through your Dr.  If your Dr., is not helping you let me know.  I can find the regs for you and you can hand to your Dr. I know that WLS surgery is covered.  Let me know if you need any help.
