Hi Stew and Kat,

Nice to meet you both!  Sounds like you are both happy with your decision and I am getting so excited.  Monday is coming fast!

Do you guys go to any support group meetings?  I go to the meeting at Kaiser on the 4th Sat of each month.

Hello there...
I'm new to this site and I'm so glad to find others from Sacramento. My doctor is Dr. Koura with Methodist Hospital. He has a support group every 3rd Thursday at 6:30 in a building behind Methodist Hospital. I haven't had my surgery yet. I have one more month of weigh-in, then, all my tests and a visit to Dr. Koura. I work in education so I'm so hoping I can have this surgery this summer while I'm off.

I glad to hear all of you are doing well with your surgeries. I am ready for a new beginning to my life.

Glad to meet you all.....
Marie

Hello and Welcome, Lady K,
My name is Marie and I loved reading all the positive support others have submitted on their posts. It's nice knowing you're not alone going through this journey. How much weight have you lost since your surgery? Do you go to any support groups in Sacramento?

Marie

I lost 50# before surgery and I'm down about another 100-1005# since surgery... 13 months ago.  I work in the evenings, so my support has been forums... there are 2-3 I visit, but I've heard a bunch about the OH conference - I thought I would check OH out again. :)

Hi everyone, well, I am 3 1/2 weeks post op.  I had surgery on 4/26 and I am doing good.  I am on the "pureed" food stage of my program so its nice to eat a little somewhat solid food.

I am down 16 pds from surgery day!

Hi Ali,
I'm glad you are doing well after your surgery. Congrats on your weight loss!    How are you doing with the food you are eating? Is it staying down ok?

Keep us posting on your progress.

Marie

Hi Marie,

The first couple days of pureed foods I had a rough time; I was very thirsty so I wouldn't wait an hour to drink and I think that is what caused me to get sick.  After a couple days I seemed to figure it out and haven't been sick again until yesterday.  Yesterday I ate that one bite to much and I was miserable.  But overall I have been handling the food pretty good.  Pureed stage is what I am at and I have been eating a lot of scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, tuna, etc.

What stage are you at?

LOL.... I am at the stage of waiting. I have completed my pysch eval, I have one more month of weigh-ins. June 1 I have an appointment for a complete physical and on the 4th a mammogram (which I have routinely because I have had breast cancer). I work in education so I am hoping to have my RNY sometime in July so I won't have to take time off from work. I tried to time this correctly but you never know what can happen.    Lately, I've been researching the different types of protein drinks and/or powders, what do you suggest?

I'll continue to pray for your recovery,
Marie
