Pain in upper abdomen: surgery on Thursday,

This will be exploratory surgery but the doctor thinks I have either an internal hernia, twisted bowels causing a partial obstruction or a gall stone stuck in the bile duct (gallbladder removed in 2006).  Has anyone had anything this this happen to you?  I am kinda nervous because they have to go through the old stomach, then trough the intestine just to look at the bottom of the bile duct.  They said its a tricky surgery and will try to do it laporscopic but may have to convert it to an open surgery if there are complications. 

If anyone has had something similar please share so I can know what to expect.  I appreciate your assistance.

Thank you Bebaugh, for your prayers, I can surely use those.  When they find out what this is I will share because I have been having these pains for the past year and now they are getting worse.  Feels like gallbladder attacks but I don't have one anymore.

I remember how awful those gallbladder attacks were! I had mine out about 10 years ago. I really hope they can find and fix what is wrong so you won't have this pain anymore.

I sure hope they find what is wrong too.  A few things they will be looking for are: 1. Internal Hernia, 2. adhesion that are strangling the intestines 3. a stone that formed in the remnant bile duct or liver.

Doctor feels that it is one or more of these things.  So I hope they find and fix it.
