Good Morning Manic Monday
I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend? I know today is Monday, but that should not mean its going to be a bad thing. Big deal that we all have to return to work that should not mean something bad. I love mondays, for me, it means that I will be off work for the next two days. Now the bad thing about that, that means I should start cleaning and washing. All the kids need a bath, and I should think about shaving Fresser since its getting hot, but need to watch the weather report to make sure she wont freeze. LOL
So now that the weekend is over, what did you do to keep busy this weekend? Or did you have a do nothing weekend? Them are the best around. Next weekend is my weekend off, I am doing to Santa Anita 5k again this year, and then sleeping on sunday. (Easter Sunday) What are you going to do? Any egg hunts? I love watching the kids hunt eggs. They are so cute running around looking for the egg.
OK My coffee is done and I need a shower...Yes that is me you can smell...
I wish you all a wonderful Manic Monday.....
Be safe!!!!

Yep, Monday is here again. Had a wonderful 3 day weekend which I really did need. I am sure I will pay for that when I get to work this morning. But enjoyed my Step Mom who spent the weekend with us and took her home yesterday. We did lots of shopping and looking around. Actually she did lots of shopping, I did a little but mostly looked.
We are redesigning our backyard area we affectionately call "the hill" although it's just the upper terraced section, no hill at all really. Right now it has some old cypress and a shrub that's lived way beyond it's years and is all woody. So Ron will remove about 90% of them, there are about 20-25 of them and work the dirt up there and we will plant fruit trees. So I am researching types and varieties that grow well together etc. We currently have an old peach and apple but I am afraid they are both diseased and just hanging on, so they will need to be replaced, but the deal is not until the others get in the ground and are fruiting. Hopefully they will last.
Well I guess I better head to the shower and begin my day.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
Hugs,
Barb
I had a great weekend. Yesterday was a nice day of rest.
We are going to my son's house for Easter. My grandson and I will dye some eggs this week. They have a great big back yard for egg hunting!
I hope every one has a great day.!
Lu, I cannot smell you all the way from here!!
Barb, good luck with the fruit trees. I want to try a drawf fruit tree in a container this year.
The weekend was a whirl of activity. I had to work Saturday because my boss hosted a town hall meeting that brought a lot of people who wanted to take over the meeting and make speeches. I didn't enjoy it, but was sure glad when it was done. On Sunday my hubby and I went to a home and garden show where I learned how I could spend thousands more on my house. In the evening I played in my first softball game in something like 10 years. I wasn't great in my performance, but had an awesome time with a fun team.
Today I have a holiday!! I am allowing myself to be lazy. I might swim later, but I am pretty sore from my softball game last night.
Take Care all!

My weekend went well. Saturday, I went to the Forum for WeConnect hosted by Maria Shriver. WeConnect was an outreach program to connect people to various resources such as financial, housing, jobs, food, state disability, etc. I was leaving just as our state's first lady was arriving. The majority of the services did not apply to me, but I left with a few gems. Plus, I can always pass on what I did /did use onto someone else.
Sunday, I went to see Dreamgirls (the musical based on The Supremes) in Downtown L.A. It was my birthday gift from my BFF Gaby. Besides the musical, she treated me to some very overpriced treats, dinner and some cold, hard cash to boot. I am very blessed to have a friend like her. I got to think of something nice to do for her on her b-day in May.
Everyone have a great day.
More Love and Peace,
Kimmie
I'm having a very lazy day today. Last day off for a few. It is overcast and looks like it is going to rain later. I hope so. I planted some grass seed in the front yard. I need to get more for the back. I had a good weekend, but of course it went by to fast. Got to spend some time with a friend and catch up. Got some more work done in the yard. Watched to lizards play in the yard too. They are so cute, but so small, I'm scared I'm going to step on one. YUCK. Not much else going on around here. I am going to look at some furniture, and pretend I can afford to buy it. I hope you all have a great day.
Afternoon Lu and Cali gang
Just finished up lunch and getting ready to start some paper work. For a Monday, it sure is wizzing by. Co worker and I got our 3 mile walk in before the rain drops start; sky is getting blacker but weatherman says only a 30% chance. Ha! Bet we have rain drips by the time I leave to go home ^_^
Had a wonderful 'anniversary' weekend with DH...went to dinner twice, went for a scooter ride up into the foothills, and just relaxed the rest of the time. I love weekends that are totally not planned.
Came to work this morning to find out our wonderful Boss is closing the office at noon on Friday...that has never happened! LOL Called DH and we are heading to the m/h for the weekend. We'll nail 2 birds w/1 stone...pay our annual lease on the spot we have at the campground and 'open' the m/h for the summer.
That's it for me...just work and some play ;-) Hope you all have similiar plans..even you retired folks!!

With all that being said, I am still swamped. Between business returns that require Schedule C's on personal tax returns, Personal Property Tax returns and our wonderful state of California who is now requiring anyone with a business to file use tax returns for 2007, 2008 and 2009 by April 15th, I'm ready to pull my hair out of my head. Being as I don't have much hair, I best not do that however. Why don't we just make every tax return there is due on April 15th.
OK, so I'm just a wee bit testy today. Just under 3 weeks to go. I can do this.
The weekend, what there was of it, was good. More work on the house. The master bedroom is ready for the new furniture to be moved in tonight. Mike and I will do that when I get home and I think we might actually get to sleep in our new bed this evening. That will be nice. Sunday I took a break and watched the movie Precious. Very intense movie. But it was good. I made a nice pot of chili yesterday. Had some for dinner and then froze the rest. We'll have a couple more meals out of that batch.
Mike had to run to Orange County today so he is bringing home Chinese food from the BEST chinese restaurant we have ever been to. It is in Fullerton. Right near where my son lives. He introduced us to it. Can't go to the OC without getting some Beef Sticks. OMG...yum. So that is dinner tonight.
Well time to get busy again. Almost time to go home. I have Chinese food on the way for me. Hope everyone had a great day.
