hi, im in kaisers options program and i need to lose 4 pounds by monday any advice?
in the kaisers options class I have to lose 10% of my weight. Class ends this monday and i am 4 pounds away. I don't think I will make it with sticking to my 1500 cal diet and exercise. so Im asking what else i can do. One lady told me laxative. It worked for her but Im afraid of water weight. Do they weigh you on the last class or do you weigh yourself? I know if I had one more week I could make it but I don't . kaiser had me on a 2500 cal diet and 2 months into the program i started gaing again so I asked to be on the 1500 diet... Im so worried PLEASE HELP
I was the second biggest looser in my options class, I used the EAS soy shakes with a fruit for breakfast, a meal replacement bar for lunch by pure protein with a cup of carrots and usually a chicken breast with steamed veggies for dinner and lots of water. I noticed that the weeks I really amped up the protein and water I lost the most. There were a lot in my class that did not get near their 10% and still are getting referred, if you are that close I bet you will be fine, good luck to you!
I eat similar. I have a premium protein for breakfast with a fruit or special k 90 cal bar. for lunch I have 6 oz of apple sauce a cup of carrots and a boneless skin less chicken breast, and for dinner I have a big romaine salad with beans and chicken and lemon. I drink mostly water sometimes I will have a glass of ff milk or a crystal light. a lot of people in my class are not going to make the ten percent but I don't want to be one of them I really have worked my butt off. thank you!
I'm also Kaiser but didn't have to do the options classes. I did have to lose around 20lbs before I was given an actual surgery date. I found Kaiser's program to be a 'work in progress'...as long as your following their plan, making progress in the weight loss area, you will move forward. You could cut back on the calories, concentrating on protein and lots of water, but I agree with one of the other posters...I think you have proven that you will do all you can to meet the criteria for surgery. Just be proactive and be your own advocate...that seems to work with Kaiser...even if it does seem 'pushy'..they get the message ^_^ Good luck to you and let us know how things turn out on Monday.
