Hi Everyone I had gbs 2years ago in january went from 342 to around 172 now.I gained about 15 pounds I want to get around 150 I am thinking.

I am not that great about vegetables and fruits.

My question is,has any bought the health master and is it a good way to get vegetables and fruits in.Does it keep the fiber still in it that we need or does it make it not a good thing for wlsurgery people.
Thanks alot
Kim

Or if not on that question any tips on how to get in vegetables and fruits I am really bad I have to admit.

Hugs toall

Possibly you just need to increase your protein consumption, increase your water, do not eat much veggies and fruit as they are carbs, protein and water is what you need to take off your regained weight. I tried it, it did not work so I had a revision to the duodenal switch (DS) and couldn't be happier. Now past what I had lost with the GB.

I have a VitaMix and it's like the one Montel is advertising.  The fiber is still in the drink and I think it's a great way to get in the vegetables etc, but you could just always make a vow to eat at least 1/2-1 serving of a fruit or vegetable with every meal or snack.  I start most of my day with a protein shake with 1/2 a banana or cup of frozen strawberries etc in it to get a fruit.  My snack this week will be some cottage cheese mixed with ranch dip mix and vegetables to dip.  Lunch will be some protein with a salad etc snack 1/2 apple with string cheese so that's the plan.

With regards to the 15lbs, have you let those "old" habits of eating for non nurishment reasons back into your life, as well as the type of food you are eating?

Being really bad really HELPS to gain the weight, it's up to YOU to change your eating habits and your life.

I have to rebutt what Karen has said. Yes fruits and veggies are carbs, but they are good carbs (complex carbs). You need the vitamins and minerals that furits and vegetables provide. I don't know much about the Helth Master that Montel is promotiong. (seems like eveyone is coming out with one of these ever since Jack La Lane came out with his). I would up the protein and get in 1/2-1cup of fruits/veggies several times a day. My surgeon's protocol is Protein first, then fruits/veggies, then carbs if there is any room left in my pouch. I try to say away from bad carbs (simple carbs) as much as possible. I'm not saying it's easy, but I do try. I hope this helps and I wish you much success on your continued weightloss and health.
