Has anyone here had a WLS revision?

I was successful in loosing 110lbs and regained the 25 as my doctor said I would. But ultimately I never even got close to my ideal weight which is 140... I still had 50 pounds more to go when my weightloss stalled and I gained the 20 even though I was going to the gym and eating correctly. I'm now considering going back for a revision and would like to get info from others that have done the same.

I have not gained additional weight but I can eat an adequate sized meal. Its scary to think that I can go back to what I weighed before.

Hi there,

No I have not had a revision heck I have not even had my first wls... LOL

Depending on what you are looking to revise into you might want to post on their board here on OH as well. Just a thought.

God bless our troops

I have not had a revision, but we have a lot of people on the DS forum who either have had or are seeking revisions from RNY, lap band, even the old VBG to the DS. Come on over to the DS forum, you could either just lurk or start a thread asking people about their experiences with revision to the DS.
Another great resource is the website dsfacts.com, and OH also has a revision forum.

 Hey Lizeth,

I've not had a revision, but I will tell you that I am struggling right now with weight gain. I'm almost 4 years out, and was at goal, but have gained 30 lbs back....it scares the heck out of me.

I got super sick after my first round of plastics, and just never got back into the gym routine again...I need to do that NOW!

good luck to you,
Janel

 Hey Barb!

Yes, I know I just need to get out there and come to the luncheon next month. I was very lazy today and just couldn't muster up the energy to get ready to come out there! This commute from Oakley to Concord each day just kills me...I am up at 4:30 every morning, so I am so selfish with my time on the weekends!

Anyway, I will plan to come next month for sure...do you guys have a date set yet?

Yes, I have had a revision from the GB to the duodenal switch (DS). I couldn't be happier. Being a revision, I have lost slower than the first time, but now down about 65 pounds in 10 months and losing inches like crazy. I am into size 12/L, where before after the GB only got into 14/XL. I am down 7 lbs from where I stopped with the GB. I find the variety and amount of foods so much better with the DS. To qualify, it is the same as first time surgery. As Larra said, do come to the DS forum and ask questions. Check out the "Revision" board and "failed weight loss surgery" board too. And again check out www.dsfacts.com for a wealth of great iinformation.
